I love the names Uno and Nori. Any suggestions for No 2? I think 2 is a lover not a fighter. :loveshower:
These chicks have so much personality!
Is it just when I am watching but does it seem that Nori prefers to be in between the others when ever possible? Nori uses Uno and No 2 like bookends. I am thinking that for a small nestmate it is safer there, and it is a good place in which to get fed.
Thanks everyone for the updates and pics/vids. 8-)

As I noticed when Madis comes from the left side, it brings a fish from the sea, when it comes from the opposite side it brings a fish from the fishpond, usually it is a carp.
Wow, Macko, GREAT observation!!! I will pay attention to it also.

Hello everyone! :hi:

I've been following this blog for a while now and I finally registered! :shake:
It's really nice to see the chicks grow up and luckily "nori" made it too.

They are quite noisy today :gathering: , seems like they are really hungry.
Guess Madis will deliver a big fish soon!

Have a good day everyone!

The little one ist Nori, but in our community we call him "Tweety"! In the beginning we were very worried about him and we feared that he wouldn't survive. The other two often edged him away when Piret feeded them. But he is a tough little fighter. So "Braveheart" could also be a nice name for him :bounce:
Braveheart is the name given to the Loch of the Lowes youngster - he is the son of the oldest known breeding female in the UK known to us as Lady. He is also a survivor.

Hi Sylvie, I don't think there are any available. She or he is sitting there on the stand on which the camera is placed.

17:51 Nori and #2 are side by side. Nori placed one wing over #2's shoulder. It's so cute! :shake:
I don't know how to insert images/videos. Can somebody explain to me how to do it? :shake: Thanks

Hello gala,

copy image from the web camera and save it to your hd
reduce size if necessary
upload it to a photo sharing service such as http://www.tinypic.com
after uploading copy the "direct link"
klick the img-button above your text
and insert the link between
that's all

Hi gala, the way I insert prints is this :

1. press button PRT on your keyboard
2. open Windows Paint, open New, open Edit, resize the picture
3. got to TinyPic on the Internet and follow instructions
4. copy the link from TinyPic which said : IMG Code for Forums & Message Boards
5. insert the link here
6. ready!

You are right Helmi -
and there was a second attack later - but I couldnt see, what kind of enemy it was.

Maybe somebody made a video?

Thanks to all nest-watchers for the wonderful pics and movies :2thumbsup:

Hello everyone and welcome to all joining us!

RE: the camera and installation - we have not seen any pictures of this nest and the place where it was aplaced. I am not sure that the picture that the picture that meierlein linked to (http://www.eoy.ee/sites/default/files/p ... otkas3.jpg) is of this installation (it could be, but Urmas has not told us).

This camera was new this season - it came on line in April - and that is about all we know at the moment. Sometimes the LK cameras are closed at the end of the season, and sometimes not. we will have to wait for Urmas to tell us more.

Re: Name for the second chick.
I think it was jopie who first pointed out that the coloring of chick #2 is darker than Uno and Nori - she is more like Piret. Perhaps we have boy-girl-boy? If #2 is female, I was trying to think of a name that reflected her beauty. There is an Estonian name, Linda, and the word in Spanish means "pretty" or "beautiful". ((( It is also the name given to one of the White-tailed eagles, so maybe this is not a good idea? (but, I like it :D )))) Edited: or maybe Mari ?

Thank you for all the new pictures and the discussion about the dark fish (pike or gurnard). Madis is fishing in a lake, would he find gurnard there?

 Nancy, yes it was me, but the other way around, because number 2 is darker I think it is a male, and numbers 1 and 3 females..... Because the head of Madis is also darker then Pirets, especially on top of the head. Piret has more white around the eyes and at the "start" of the beak.
