Thanks for the updates. Poor little Elo; he/she just looks so alone and dejected - and ... soooo hungry.

indeed, Elo seems to be very desperated :-(
She kicked out of the nest Uno a 2nd time just a few minutes ago. She seems to be afraid that in case of a fish delivery somebody else could get HER fish, so her plan seems to be: better in the nest ALONE and awaiting Dad without any of my siblings.......

Thank goodness. I was beginning to worry that Madis had decided to leave the fighting juveniles and head south to get away from the screaming.

To Urmas,
Thank you for all info so much.
About your post Posted: August 20th, 2012, 8:00 am
I guess, is no return from putting transformers on birds.
I've questions to Urmas.
Is it possible to apply for a chip at phone, computer firms? That firms really do have small chips, with even a possibility to make pictures. Then, we could see much more of birds travelling.
Today’s technology is so developed, that (maybe) these big transformers can be replaced by something smaller.
What about Google? Can that be any possibility?
Many greetings

It is just too much - that crowd and noise in the nest and not enough fish and fighting
I suppose they will go fishing tomorrow
I WISH

There are much smaller loggers, but in that case we need to re-trap the bird once again and will get data only from removed logger. Re-trapping of Osprey is extremely difficult and if the bird will not return, then we don't know where to search it.Elivanarya wrote::

Most problematic factor in transmitter is energy, most of weight takes battery, even with solar powered one, inside the battery should be for continuous work.

After the first crazy flights they seem to spend more time in the nest recently. I think they can feel the BIG CHANGE coming soon. Mum is gone, Dad is busy fishing - nobody to comfort them anymore.
They want to cherish this peaceful "at home" feeling as long as they can before they leave the Family and the Nest forever.

Thanks Urmas for keeping us updated on Piret I see that the positions are recorded every half hour from 00:01 to 23:30, all are distant from each other, so... Piret never sleeps?Urmas wrote:Here is the link to Pirets yesterday trip, what terminated (for probably stop over) in Dnepr River mouth, probably rich of fish area.
