Don't know what is wrong (maybe just the weather) but Piret is going and coming several times.
I has just opened cam. at that time, but also my connection has failed some times, so when it came again I saw nest without parent. Saw Piret back and leave again. Heard her call rather near - and the heard calls from another bird too. Perhaps another raptor that I´m not familiar with, but not WTE or Buzzard. And then Piret was heard more distant. So perhaps she had to chase this bird away.
Heard this bird some days ago too, and also Madis, who was in nest reacted.

But this also caused that I saw junior :loveshower:
happy to read that you saw what might be a feeding, jopie :2thumbsup:

and now I have to close again

 Glad the hatchling got some food at least.! I don't see any fish on the nest :puzzled:
I hope they get the hang of it soon. :slap:
Thanks for all the pics today. Still the same attitude from the parents I see.
Like...astonishment. " HOW did that little chick arrive here ? "
At the nest in Dyfi,Wales last year, the parent had no idea how to feed their first chick but the male brought lots of fish and soon all went smoothly. They raised 3 very strong chicks.

Nice video macdoum! :)

Unfortunately Dyfi project is not so lucky in this season :( They have lost two chicks, and the third chick survived the storm with only a bit of human help.

Nancy the female osprey moults during the brooding & feeding season as she usually does not move much then.
Once the young are reared after some practice flights she is usually the first to leave on migration.

See that hole on the left top of the egg in the back, with the little white thing in it?
Piret went in it twice with the tip of her beak.
I don't know if it is a real pip, or something else :puzzled:
:hi: Well, you did notice too jopie - nice

Now I have to leave cam for some time. But who knows, perhaps junior the second already has arrived, when I come back again

have a nice afternoon at the cam.

Perhaps I´m just too optimistic - but perhaps the next hatch is going on? :puzzled:

Welcome, Galina!

I was under the impression (mistaken, perhaps) that Madis had nested here before, with a different female. :puzzled:

In any case, Piret is doing a wonderful job ~ a natural mother.

I think I could hear the chick-in-egg under all those other sounds, before the feeding ended.

Oh thank you  .

I also heard a noise, but wasn't sure if it's from the egg or not.

I think Madis now sat on the camera  .

And Piret so sleepy again, aw.

Yes, Urmas wrote about this nest:
http://www.looduskalender.ee/en/node/13110

"The first osprey nest is also an artificial nest that we have built about 200 meters away from the previous year’s broken-down nest. Last year this pair had two young."

(but that female was ringed, and our Piret is not, so she is a different mate this year)

Maybe the male really has a kind of adjusting problem? I don't know if that is possible :puzzled: First on the eggs all the time, now only allowed to watch and bring fish. If he was human one could say he is jealous

It´s funny, isn´t it? You see what you expect to see. Me too. I was sure he would bring fish, so I saw it, and I discovered the error only because I checked the video. Now I´m more careful!
