They don't migrate together, all going on their own. Next spring hopefully the mum and dad comes back to the same area, but not always the same nest. The chicks won't come back till they are ready to start own families, after about three years.

This is how I have interpreted the info we've got earlier in the forum thread.
Thank you for your help,,, I hope that the mom and dad do come back. being how they are banded,is there away to track their migration?

I think the bands/rings only helps when someone sees or finds a ringed bird and I don't think we will be informed. But this year we can follow Piret, the mum, on her migration, because she got a transmitter attatched. The link to the migration map is in the first post of this forum thread about the map.

Since June 2012 I watched this site several times a day !

It`s wonderful and great, technically and photographically perfect !

When I watching this birds and other animals (their behavior, their welfare a.s.o.), I ask me, who is the crown of creation now ...

Many thanks to the organizers and greetings from Austria !

Harri

Thank you for the information, Urmas. It will be interesting to follow Piret´s journey.
I keep my fingers crossed for her and for all the other migrating birds.

I am very interested in all things related to ospreys. They are a neighborhood bird here, but of course without a webcam and someone to do it well, could never see what was going on in the nest. thanks again!

So I am curious about migration too... but I was hoping transmitter technology would have become more miniature. I will worry about Piret (as I needlessly did about Nori) until she returns.

Thank you, Alice
Yes I know about wild boars in Estonia and your description of what you heard that morning was exactly that what I heard some mornings:
stomping and snorting like a herd of feral pigs.
And maybe there is a small standing water (not a puddle) below the nest?
To be honest: during the time of watching this nest I got more and more curious about knowing what it looks like below and surround the nest ;-)
