A dark view of a nest with only growing green plants among all nest incredients.
But Luz gave a beautiful collage of past visitors in this calm nest, thanks for it!
Is the visitor 19.6. at 04.44 recognized, an interesting beautiful red bird?

... :hi: It's a black bird in the reflection of the morning sun:

I guess it's the same like with black cats or panthers or any other black animals. http://images5.fanpop.com/image/photos/ ... 00-336.jpg

:headroll: wonderful pictures and videos of Madis and Piret! They do look healthy. :2thumbsup:

I think that "defensive" behaviour on his part reflects "discomfort" - we talked and read a lot about this at the beginning of each season. It might have been the Dyfi blog where I read a statement that this was typical at the beginning of a season, when the partners had not seen each other for awhile and therefore were not entirely comfortable with each other. But then ... Madis brought Piret a fish 8-)

Luz, that is a beautiful collage! thank you!

If I remember correctly, it was also possibly a "submissive" pose by the male to assure the female that he was not a threat to her, which would calm her and facilitate her acceptance of his mating attempts.

Thanks to everyone who posted the pics & video of Piret and Madis. It's such a comfort to see them healthy, and especially together in their nest.

Hey Wisteria

I have read the same thing about that submissive pose so you may very well be right. To me, they looked like they were flying together and they landed one right after the other. They appeared to be looking around like they hadn't been there in a while and were surveying the area, almost like they were on a brand new nest. I just hope the very best for them and that they will be safe on their migration to Africa and back home next spring. 8-)
The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

3:51 Piret was on the nest for a minute or so !! At first I thought it was Madis, because there was no "back pack" in view, but just before she flew off, the S0 ring was visible (and of course, in review - she does not look like Madis!).

Piret beautiful! :loveshower: I wonder why Piret and Madis more often began to appear in his nest?

Thanks for the compliment  and thanks for photos from 3:51.
The 2 plants in the right look strong and ready to survive. I guess this are Nettles, same kind in the nest of "Tooni".
The flower on the left got already seeds. Can be seen in the evening sun. I believe it is that kind that turn silver when dry and the seeds are poison.

Thanks Wisteria for explaining the behavior of Mandis

How wonderful to see Piret and Madis visiting the nest. I'm relieved to see them healthy and safe.

The cam is still offline - apparently the batteries are empty. Urmas posted some news here: viewtopic.php?p=259266#p259266

Cam is one. Pontu Pic does not work. Visitors must have been in the nest. Arrangement looks different.

Yesterday I switched cam on again, but controller is still not fully functioning.
That could be harmful for batteries in bad case, because of overcharge during long time.

7:20 those plants are not looking good these days - they must miss the osprey fertilization

7:23 a loud bird call that I do not recognize.

the call is getting fainter - does anyone know who is calling?
