Oh, thanks. Maybe he's saying sorry for landing on her back, then!

16:01 - Both Piret and Madis land on the nest.
Piret gives warning calls and both look at something in the distance. Then Madis flies off.
16:02 - Piret flies off too, into the same direction as Madis (to the left).

Please read the posting from Wisteria - Wed Jul 10, 2013 12:59 am- She explains it very good.

Thank you so much, molly!
The first, ringless osprey looked like she came down from the cam support. And I supposed Madis and Piret spotted him/her and rushed over to defend their nest.

Thanks Molly for those videos. The unringed osprey on the nest explains the defending mantling behaviour of Piret and Madis, and it also explains Piret's warning calls when they shortly after this unringed osprey were on their nest. The question is now who was that unringed osprey. Was it perhaps Oxana who caused so much stress earlier this season and who still hasn't given up her unrightful claim on this nest?

Was it perhaps Oxana? I wondered that too .... Get out the photos for comparisons

That means to me they seem always to be nearby defending their property.NancyM wrote:Thank you so much, molly!
