I thought I saw a flash of ring when I watched the video ~ thank you for taking and posting the photoPangea wrote:I think its Madis, he has a ring on the right leg (photo capture in sec 43)
I think this osprey looks like Madis - I compared pictures from last year and he has similar markings - looks a bit thin, tho, after his trip.

I can see nothing at all, even if I increase the photo.
Can somebody identify parts of the number?

One planet meets another. Planet 1 says to Planet 2, “Hey you look terrible”. Planet 2 says, “Yes I know. I have Homo Sapiens.” Planet 1 says, “Don’t worry. I had that too and it will soon disappear.

I see what looks like a ring on the right leg in the photo, but i have other photos taken from the video that look like a ring, further down the leg and another photo that looks like no ring at all. I think we are going to have to wait for this one to return so we can clearly see that leg.Eden wrote:I can see nothing at all, even if I increase the photo. The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

It is just starting to get light ...
A bird is singing like crazy here - not an osprey, I don't know who it is, but he has a lovely and complicated song.

The one posted above mine looks like a female to me and possibly not the one from last night.

I am not sure I follow, Chimega - I think this is Madis, the male, on the nest yesterday and today.Chimega wrote:The one posted above mine looks like a female to me and possibly not the one from last night.

This one has quite a nice necklace - moreso, it seems, than Madis' necklace. Facial markings are near identical, though. I need a photo of the back of Madis' head. Anyone got one, real quick?NancyM wrote: I am not sure I follow, Chimega - I think this is Madis, the male, on the nest yesterday and today.

We installed with Joosep and two trainees webcam on the nest at 16th of April. Almost all day there, but no one Osprey was seen around then. So I suppose Madis arrived either yesterday (did not compare the photos of yesterday bird and of Madis from last year, think breast markings are important to compare) or this early morning. Todays bird looks more like Madis, as feels familiar with the nest and cam on it. But the comparison needs to be made according pontu pictures probably:

There on camera is a bit wider wider lens this year, so not so close you can see the birds. But if the bird is on nearer rim of the nest then it is almost the same size as last year was visible.
Congratulations!

I believe this is Madis from last year. Taken from the photos in last year's thread.
