But even with the best of intentions of not repeating posts, not too easy to check up in Forum posts.
Might - just - be managed by Google Search.
So - repetitio est mater studiorum?

No, on the contrary, as I know that many people don't frequent the "lower" regions of the forum, my intention was to share the little film Urmas pointed out to me once again (and at the same time advert those topics a little bit)
Beautiful birds like this can't be seen enough!

Everybody on Birdmap is migrating - except Tõnn.
As of March 20th even Iti, most likely Tõnn's mother, has started moving northwards from the Turkish Mediterranean coast.

But Tõnn has often been late in starting his migration.
Perhaps it is because he hasn't had a nest place or mate to hurry to for defending against others.
Tõnn would certainly have a better chance of finding a partner at least south of Scandinavia, but it seems his urge to explore fresh - for GSEs - areas is stronger than seeing female GSEs.
Interesting point: what - if anything - would make Tõnn see an area as a hopeful "dating territory"? Seeing other GSEs? or simply good GSE landscapes?

Now Tönn you are at an age to settle down & do some nesting & providing Estonia and the world with a chick or even two.. So please settle down. Surely there must be a darling female GSE waiting just for you.
Enough dilly-dallying.!
Liis surely agrees,Urmas too.
So a job awaits you,we are watching & waiting.
We are singing this to encourage you;

O what good news! Have a nice journey, Tõnn!
Maybe someone of us will be lucky and see you, when you fly over our heads?

Last year Tönn flew over the street where I live, near the Rhine river, as the transmitter said. Unfortunately I did not see him. Maybe this year.....

So Tõnn is already in Germany (March 30th), having passed France and Switzerland.
Quo vadis, Tõnn?
Will he visit "home", and what is home by now?

From the last couple of years 'Home' for Tönn seems to be in Sweden.

Iti is back home in Estonia it seems from April 4th Birdmap update.
Tõnn still appears to be in Germany. But Urmas wrote that his transmitter is showing signs of age. So, all on Tõnn's possible route - please polish your binoculars!

Where is Tönn? As his transmitter does not work anymore, I am quite concerned now that something happened to him. I hope it is only a mistake of the transmitter. Is it possible to find out where he could be now?

Yes, where is Tõnn?
Last year at this time he had already been in North Sweden for nearly a month, and been observed many times.
There are no probable sighting reports in the Swedish bird observation database; latest GSE notice is from mid-April, and there are only 3 GSE observations altogether for this year.

In hope,I have just studied the birdmap & Urmas reports;
It would be so good to have news of Tönn.
This is all I can find. If all the regular 'birders' in Scandanavia have already marked off GSE maybe they don't bother anymoreGSE Tõnn is probably in Scandinavia, because in Finland there was observed similar bird with transmitter in April. Seems the transmitter of Tõnn is not functioning anymore. Similar situation is with Black Storks Pirsu and Priidu.
