Tõnn has been in Jyväskylä! Central Finland. It's the town of my childhood. There are huge coniferous forests all around and between the towns, and marsh, cornfields, and hundreds of lakes :D

That sounds like heaven for an Eagle,Renandeli but they will be some jealous people in Estonia  if he decides to immigrate to Finland. :puzzled: :innocent: :peek:

Hi, mcdoum  Tõnn as a Lesser Spotted Eagle is most a rare eagle species here. I don't know if we have them here at all.. He is here all alone..

Please, Tõnn, you have it better in you home land.. go back!!

  goodnes, I'm so ..what's the word, absend-minded?.. I was watchin LSP cams :2thumbsup:

edit There are no Greater Spotted Eagles in Finlad either.. The last GSE, it was ringed in Finland, was killed (died) 2006 in Sweden. It does not anymore belong to our birds.. one hundred years ago in the Russian time we had them. We have only a few visitors like Tõnn.

Tõnn, you have better to return to Estonia!

An interesting article about GSE nesting in Finland. Its written January 2009, its in Finnish http://www.kaleva.fi/plus/juttu778388_page1.htm

If I understand right  - in Finland has been seen few visitors of Greater Spotted Eagle yearly, in best years even tens visitors.
But according to estimates, only one pair of Greater Spotted Eagles lives in Finland. They had successful nesting in 2005, 2006 and 2008 (the destiny of 2005 year chick was really sad, he died in Sweden next spring- a victim of traffic accident)
Previous nests were 1975 and 1943 discovered.
From 1880 to 1910 were 13 nest found.

The GLE is a real rarity  I havent find information about this only couple, have they returned this season or not.

In same article: in Estonia are 5 pairs of pure GSE and 9 pairs of Lesser/Greater spotted eagle hybrids.

That was surprising to me, I have read they are rare in Estonia too, but I remember bit higher numbers of pairs
