Renandeli, it sounds good, no wonder Tõnn likes Jyväskylä surroundings :D

In the article about Tõnn:
Since Tõnn flew quite high, 400-800 meters from the land’s surface, it’s highly probable that he wasn’t noticed—though almost every rare bird that crosses the Finnish border is noticed by the birdwatchers.

I hope somebody gets the picture of Tõnn too :D

Carmel, I would be jealous :rotf:

Lili! Thank you. What great information of the GSEs in Finland! Tõnn is too young to searh a mate, ins't he. He should absolutely return to home. Even though there are lots of suitable areas for him, it is not that safety for 100%.. Our big forests are crossed with roads, big and small ones, and there are cars everywhere.. And Tõnn seems to be quite a curious eagle..

There is more news about Tõnn, by Urmas!

http://www.looduskalender.ee/

What an eagle, this is great.. But I am a bit worried - I wish from my heart that anyone will disturbe or harm him.. There is here in Finland quite much the old traditional 'hatred towards eagles'. I am of course exaggerating this,... but I have got to know that eaglehatred still exist, especially in North...in Lapland..

Good Luck Tõnn!!

Urmas believes that Tõnn will go even more northwards (to see the midnight sun?)

English translation coming, as usual by Scott Diehl, Special Eagle & Stork translator
Renandeli - how does the dislike of eagles show? Are nests destroyed? Do people shoot at them?

Yes, there is it, hatred towards eagles (and towards wolves, bears, foxes, wolverines- gluttons and lynxes..). If I google I can find stories, and they are not old news. We have to wish the best! There are people who shoot eagles, and there are here lot of people who have guns.

Thanks for the information, Renandeli.
As Tõnn is such a great traveller, we can only hope his travels lead him out of danger very quickly.

Maybe he will find some place which is agreeable to him, where he can feel at home and be safe.

Did you see my 'edit' abowe, I tried to say there are swamps, marches, wide ones.. and huge forests, not much people! :hi:

It is not in Lapland. Kuhmo is in a wide area, it's to South from Kuusamo ( mostly wilderness). More than 200 kms from Oulu.
