And the fair maiden is modestly fleeing?
Tõnn is certainly here, there and everywhere in the area, with some preference maybe for the north-westerly - south-easterly axis. Is the explanation in the geographic formations. the biotopes, ..?

Permission for at least one of the uranium mining exploitation projects in Tõnn's summer place in Värmland, Sweden was refused, by the way.

Tõnn may be getting some more human company: notice in a birding blog - http://aquilabirdtours.blogspot.com/ - says that El Hondo is "open to public again". Visiting hours, Wednesdays and Saturdays 8.15 to 11.15.

March 1st: Tõnn's criss-crossing wasn't painting the El Hondo green any more, suddenly. Thought I looked at the wrong bird - then realised that Urmas had started spring season with a clean track-board :innocent: . So during these few "spriing season days" Tõnn has moved around quite as usual. Modern eat-and-gym it off living!

Tñn, and 2 other GSEs, were seen in El Hondo on March 5 (Rare Birds in Spain report).

No WTEs at home.
But Urmas (Sellis) reports in Birdmap today that all monitored birds are moving on their spring migration. Except Tõnn. Even Tõnn's mother, Iti, is heading northwards from the Turkish coast ...

Is Tõnn too moving?! - In the last few days he has moved out of El Hondo, latest position on Birdmap (March 29) a couple of hundred km towards NNE, a little N of the Ebro river.

This year he crossed Germany much more south. According to the Migration Map News, he stayed near Leipzig last night.

Tõnn was probably near Leipzig, but these locations are calculated - so could have some error... We should wait for next transmission.
Last transmissions were for several birds quite problematic, don't know if there is some magnetic storm over Europe or something else disturbing transmissions.

Hopefully foolish question, but could that have something to do with the terrible incident in Japan???

I don't think so, but Argos calculation algorithm has been changed - maybe that affects to the data somehow? Should ask our partners in CLS France and Microvawe Telemetry in US.
First we need to check all todays data, up to 12:00 midnight, means tomorrow morning.

Tõnn is at home again!
Urmas in Birdmap:
"Tõnn arrived yesterday, in April 13th to homeland. That time he entered to Estonia from SE corner, what we call Setumaa. The night he spent in vicinity of Tartu, some 8km eastward. "
And where to now, Tõnn?

Last year map from the same date, when Tõnn reached Finland. This time he didn't fly there. Maybe he found a mate and is going to build a nest.

Interesting!
This is Tõnn's third migration - has anyone, by some good fortune, made any time table for comparison?
