On my island, Ameland-in the Waddensea, a young Black Stork was spotted: http://www.persbureau-ameland.nl/pages/ ... 0a79d57e72
Click on the small picture for the larger version. The band is clearly visible: 1542 in black on a white band on the left leg.
I have no idea where to search for band records but thought someone here might know 8-)

Hello, DEF - thank you for that post! I bet Urmas will be able to decipher the band - I will send him the link to your post.

Why you dont ask the people from Vogelwacht Ameland ?
They must be able to get that informations.

URMAS is on vacation without Internet
I suppose, he is the only one, who is able to put the New-transmitter-datas into the old Migration-Map

we have to wait

Thanks for the responses all. I made a mistake with the code, it is T542. That could mean it is hatched and banded in Germany.

Urmas has replied to my email about DEF's stork:

This stork is ringed in Germany, T542 is right code on ring. Ringed by Carsten Rohde.

Again Thank You for helping me in trying to find out more about this Black Stork.
I have already written to Mr. Carsten Rohde and he graciously sent me the ringing information:
T542 was banded on June 15 near Rudlos-Hessen.
He/she was spotted earlier this month at three different places in Friesland (NL). {Ameland is one of the Frisian Wadden islands}

This afternoon I have seen it myself when we drove back from the most western village (Hollum). It was feeding in a meadow. :D
