I am in love! Thanks Mamicja.
I was late so I could not see the owlet with its prey but it is still standing on the ledge and was (surprisingly) sleeping few minutes ago.
I guess it misses Lotte!

Later the owlet continued to eat a birdie, moved it to various places.

00:05 the owlet left a prey and found a new one on the other end of ledge. It is a muskrat!
Yum-yum!

I hope the Little one will not practise dragging and moving as lately :rotf:

July 23rd

19:36 Owlet s hissing
19:39 Owlet jumps from above
and takes a birdie from a ladder
19:56 Self feeding is finished, a birdie is eaten

Then the owlet cleans its beak and goes to opposite side of the ledge. Looking for something. I could see muskrat in the night but the Little one found only some bunch of fur or feathers and... no muskrat. Who did take it away? Did a muskrat fall again?

From 20:00 many details of owlet head/face. Dozing. Beautiful to watch! :loveshower:

 Mamicja, great pictures! :loveshower:

21:12 approx. the owlet found another piece of prey (is it a bird again?)
enjoying and eating it immediately

21:35 Was ist das? The eaglet is eating something at the place of yesterdays muskrat... it is soft and long, and black(!) and looks like a gut
It is very strange prey - seems like the bowels exclusively :faint:

21:43 the owlet has flown away but hissing voice is still to be heard in next minutes. Probably sitting at the close tree (bush)...

First prey from the ledge (bird remains?)
Image

The second one looked like muskrat leftovers (owlet was eating guts from it)

There is still something to eat. Owlet flew away at 21:42 . This place below looks like owlet natal nest.

I am afraid again... is it OK if Lotte doesnt come to the nest for such a long time? Do you remember her to do that in former seasons? :dunno:

Site archive is picturing Lotte on the ledge during night.
Good to know that she is OK.
Seems that she ate the rest of those black bowels (leftovers)

This is the same period which I have watched and mentioned...
Thanks for the pictures Riitta.
 And thanks for explaining me what it was where the Little one was standing on :rotf:
I have thought - wow, it is a strange - such a nice tree "root" and no trunk to be seen
Now I know
