I'm not big specialist about this species because we haven't it in Latvia but I think, like for an another owl species, situation could be different for different pairs. Some adults stay in the same territories (males almost in all occasions), some not. Usually if territory is good for owls pair could stay here for many yearsBiker wrote:hm vainamoinen i have a question please: do little owls live as a pair together after breeding? at 14.9.2016 there were two owls in the nistbox:

Anyway thank you very much vainamoinen. The idea is interesting: 2 adult steenuils together in the nistbox if the offspring was kicked out...

Now for many owl species is a period of the autumn courtship display activities (I like more German term "Herbstbalz"). It's the same important as spring courtship display. There is nothing strange that both partners are together now.Biker wrote:Anyway thank you very much vainamoinen. I have seen, on the 24th of September where I have made the picture which she / he stood very much startled in corner of the box. Whole time she / he was very worried. Since the 24th of September I have not seen them then also any more. A great pity, Having small *Spatzen* very much with pleasure.

Hm, that's pity, but these jackdaws have also their territory there.
