Well,if anybody is concerned, like me,do go there and give your opinion and maybe suggestions or similar cases and how they were handled.
Those running the forums and translations, observations etc; are only school kids.
Go online and share your thoughts to support the 'college and High-school students who feel lost there.
It is the owner of the site who has forbidden interference,as I understand it.
Those boys and girls are asking us to post there and give them some weight..

I did not see the dove, but I am not sure that proves anything.

There is a suggestion that the doves might have left because of the stress, which would be nice. They can try somewhere else.

A german internet-friend sent me this link today, she made a video when the little owl drove the dove out of the doorway: I think I am allowed to post the link here cause its on youtube and therefore public:

The netherlands forum and the camsite are different sites, the forum is a private site!

I think owl was angry because she was hungry and couldn't go away from home.

DRAT

That little owl did look cross. All that bashing about the dove does, maybe she will herself hurt enough she will just want to move on.

I don't think the little owl drove the dove out of the doorway. The dove just reacted as before, it flapped wings against the owl and withdrew again while the owl hurried out.

EDIT: I saw the video in slow motion now and it looks as if they both left at the same moment, indeed :puzzled:

Today evening the little owl became very angry. She got some hits from the dove when she wanted to leave her nest, turned back to her all of a sudden: then the dove flew out of the entrance, leaving a lot of feathers in the hall (could be owls feathers as well, but they seem to be rather small). Little owl behind her, than little owl returned and tried to destroy the eggs of the dove but in vain. Went out again shortly after the dove could be seen just outside the entrance; may be she chased her around. After a while little owl returned and gave her eggs some time of warming up. Now it is 22.22 (23.22 in Estonia) and little owl has left again, seemes she is hungry. Back again within three minutes.

BTW there is a short video of today during daytime with a crow stealing the dove's egg that layed at the entrance of the nesting box.

After this thrilling evening show I have to go :offtobed:

Dove is back on her nest in the hallway.

Hallo, good morning Carmel, you may post it there, no problem :hi:
I'm member there (geniet de lente) as well, but lack of time makes it impossible to be everywhere.
I hope they will serve the scene in a video. I've observed the nestbox most of the last evenings, and could see little owl leaving the nest each night after smaller quarrels with the dove. But yesterday evening was special: both birds were more agressiv than the other days. Maybe hatching time is getting nearer . . .

The dove seemes to be gone to exile. I am observing the cam since early evening until now, but she hasn't returned yet. As Brit wrote she must have been there during noon. I don't beleave she will return as the eggs are too cold in the meantime. Mrs. Little Owl may raise her youngs in peace I hope. :dunno:
Feeding time at 22.45 Estonian time: husband came.
Meanwhile it is 23.18 Estonian time and husband has already brought the seventh fat earthworm! :slap: :rotf:

I watched the video of cross Mrs Little Owl -- she can certainly fight for her nest space/entry way when she feels she needs to
