The female doesn't always accept prey delivered at the nest. Usually the prey is delivered on a spot close to the nest where the female will pick it up and either eat it there or take it back with her, to the nest.

Here's a video where the female picks up a fat rat and hides it for later use, filmed with the other, non-public cam (from http://volgdeoehoe.nl/ ):

:hi: Macdoum. Probably the first chicken is not hatched yet. The chicken makes sounds in the egg. We are waiting for what they call "the egg shell moment" when the female eats the "egg shell". :bounce:

It was/is very exciting today. Everyone thinks the second young will born today. When I signed in this morning there were people thought she was eeting eggshell. It appears later that it was just white feathers on her beak. Normally you count egg legged, than date come out. But is seems to be with eagle owl it is different. First egg is out, second egg notice that by the warmth and the sound of the young one. That is stimulating him/here to pick to the eggshell. BTW Starling when I signed in there was a discussion of she had left her nest that night, nobody seems to know. So I realised you have not posted your video on BdL. I posted your video with the remark that is not my video but from somebody from LK. I hope you don't mind.
