Skidaway GHO

Same again - I was away from my pc, but when I came back (05:48 cam time), the Lady had left the nest and eggs were alone. She came home again at 05:52 and was still calling while sitting on the nest.

And also at 07:08

It is a strange nest. Mam and Dad never call each other. Dad never brought any food into the nest. :(
Will Dad bring food, when the chicks need to eat?

I don´t know how much GHOs behaviour differs from European Eagle Owls .... but if not much, it is not so unusual that the male bird dosn´t appear often at the nest. They have a hand-over place for prey, mostly not far away from the nest.

When chicks hatched, male brings prey to the nest, too .... but it is also possible that female flys to the hand-over place to fetch prey for the little ones from the male.

Thanks Bea! :)

At the Alessondra's OKC GHO nest Mr Tiger brings the food into the nest every night, and they
call each other regularly.

Yes, Mrs. and Mr. Tiger are an extraordinary couple :D
They have chosen a bit unusual nesting place, too .... perhaps they love to do everything a bit particular :whistling:
