10. March
We had a visitor this afternoon ....
Stefan Brücher was on the ledge for some maintenance work. Probably this was the reason why the cam operater was zooming the last days all over the ledge thoroughly, upside and downside, to be sure that Lotte is not already sitting somewhere on her eggs.

Both owls calling somewhere ... but despite I´ve turned the volume here up to max., I can´t say whether it was a mating, a handover of prey or "only" duet/contact calling

I think it was Leo, Lotte was calling further away, but her calls could be heard better via the upper cam/microphone
I tried to get a better picture of his leg when he was taking off, but I failed .... :(

18:52 Calling not so far away.
Cam operator wants to catch Lotte in cam view!
18:59 No longer an Eagle Owl to be heard.
19:01 Cam 2 stays at this place.

At 21:31 I saw owl flying away from the lower ledge (cam 2). Picture is blurry, but I didn't manage to start recording. Maybe Bea?

Ohhhhh Mamicja, we are lucky ones, I got a video clip about this moment from an attentive owl lover today - many thanks for itMamicja at 12/03/2017 wrote:At 21:31 I saw owl flying away from the lower ledge (cam 2). Picture is blurry, but I didn't manage to start recording. Maybe Bea?
It sounds and looks as if it was a hand-over of prey

Bea I haven't heard mating sound of Eagle Owls really often.
But I guess at 19:15 there could be the next mating.

Bea, watching the video from yesterday evening I have the feeling Lotte was even there while Leo was coming. And both flew away. And her coming was not to be seen.

Maybe this is a favourit place, romy - and maybe she even will take it as her new breeding place ...
Today is 13th, and Stefan Brücher was on the ledge for camera maintenance on Friday, 10th, .... and I am pretty sure that she was not constantly on that place until then.
I think to remember that Stefan Brücher said in one of the TV clips he can be seen in, that they can climb up to the ledge until about one week before breeding start, without the risk of disturbing Lotte. And in the last statement on the webpage he writes that they are not expecting an early breeding start this year ... so maybe not all hopes are lost yet ....

Yes, it was a Momma Boar with her piglets searching for food
Cam operator was on his way to try to find Lotte on her new breeding place (?), when he caught them foraging
Cam operator was searching all over the ledge also later, probably they suppose Lotte breeding already on a still unknown place I heard her calling hoarse somewhere yesterday around 19 o`clock and I have always the impression that she is somewhere lower right side, under the upper nestplace.
