Yeah ... finally some action on the ledge :loveshower:
During the last days without Eagle Owls I always told myself that the stormy weather was not convenient for the owls ....

The first visit happened at 22:03, on the lower nest place. I am pretty sure that it was Leo.

After he had taken off one could hear Lotte somewhere calling hoarse, and when I heard everything right there were mating sounds at 22:11

While the cam operator tried to catch someone in view on the ledge, someone flew in to the upper nestbowl .... was it Lotte or Leo?

Thanks for your up-to-date news and the video, Bea. Sounds good! :D

I have stopped your clip. It shows Lotte :loveshower: short before she flies off.

18:53 Leo is still scratching.

I thought, I have seen a ring on left leg...but Eagle Owl looks like Lotte. :shake:

Thanks, Bea.
I was a bit confused.

Hmmm - I hope, the upper place will not be again the nestbowl for laying eggs. :slap:

I don't know the exact time, but I guess, it sounds like mating in the background...19:20

Leo arrived on the lower ledge at 18:36 and was hooting immediately.

He flew over to the lower nestplace at 18:39, scratching the nestbowl and doing more owl-important things to lure Lotte to the nestbowl :D
Lotte can be heard calling hoarse and nearby since 18:41, this inspired Leo to more scratching and walking in the nestbowl. He left the nestbowl at 18:51 and Lotte came in at 18:52, now it was her turn to scratch and make the nestbowl deeper and more comfortable. At 18:58 Lotte vanished behind the bushy plants and stayed out of sight.

This all looked very "serious" .... has she already made her final decision about the nestplace for this season?

Finally we could see Leo presenting a nutritious gift for his Lotte
She seemed to be quite enthusiastic when he flew/walked (?) out to hand it over to her

It was Leo who visited the lower nestplace again, he came in at 06:20
Lotte could be heard calling hoarse quite agitated before, so maybe she has got another gift from Leo on a place not far.

I fear I have to bury my hopes that Lotte will breed on the upper nestplace. Leo has clear preferences for the lower stage of the ledge, with more bushy plants around, more hidden.

It might be even possible that they have already chosen another place than the one Leo is showing up now, more to the direction where Lotte was walking away behind the bushes the other day. Perhaps she is even already sitting on the first egg.

Lotte arrives at the lower nest place, begins to scratch the ground and move some furniture, preparing for important things to come?
Leo is hooting in the background, from an other invisible place on the ledge.

18:24
This is Lotte, caught from the upper cam when she was scratching the lower nestbowl. Probably the only angle where one can get her with the upper cam.

I doubt that one of them would tolerate a third owl on the ledge - especially so close to a possible egg laying.

At least it looks as if Lotte is not already sitting on an egg on another hidden place
