The young one has a -visable- fully filled crop, so Mum is eating the last pieces of the prey.

At 20:11 I saw that the chick was waking up. Mother preened it a bit, and the chick made voices, baby callings. Is the chick very hungry or.. :puzzled: It's normal that they are almost always hungry, not too difficult to guess.. :D

Preening the chick and after that the peak moment: There was a mole in mother's storage under the twigs! Mother begun to tear the prey into small peaces: Feeding time! :2thumbsup:

I think I saw an other mole that the mother picked up from some where. The chick looks to have progressed very well. It's time have a rest.

Video: Lesser Spotted Eagle Nest in Latvia

June 27, 2010: How exciting to find an active Lesser Spotted Eagle nest! This one is located in Latvia. There is also one in Estonia, but no chicks this year. The video was recorded around 10 PM, Latvian time, and the light is fading.

Aquila pomarina

Mēs varam redzēt skaistas Latvijas ērgļi!

I'm limiting my time on this cam to about 15 minutes so that the researchers will have access.

My free Photobucket account exceeded the amount of bandwidth, so I went over to "Pro." It's worth it, because now I have unlimited broadband each year. And once I paid, all of my photos magically reappeared! This is not an advertisement for PhotoBucket, but I thought I should post the information for those whose photos have disappeared from this forum. We want to see your photos!

* US $24.95 for one year
* US $39.90 for two years (20% off the yearly price)
* US $2.99 per month (pay as you go)

That's exactly what I've been wondering about. :puzzled:

Maybe some Latvian member knows more?

Is this nest popular in Latvia? How many people are watching? Is there a forum about it? Some "official" data? :help:

Cerība means hope in Latvian. Perhaps this little eaglet represents hope for the Lesser Spotted Eagles.
