Information from Latvian forum. The names of eagles are Mētra (pronunciation Meetra) and Madis. Word Mētra is derived from Mētriena, name of neighboring village.

It's Song Thrush (Turdus philomelos). This species is present also in Germany.

Thank you Vainomoinen, though I know thrushes (Drossel in German), I think I have never heard one before. But I am living in the city since 30 years now and if I heard one before that I really don't remember.

Today morning one of the eagles visited the nest, but since they come so rarely and seldom together, I still don't know it it was Mētra or Madis

Hmm, yes Song Thrush is rare in cities but other species Common Blackbird (Turdus merula) is common in cities and towns in Latvia, especially in parks and cemeteries. So also for urban population it's possible to enjoy their songs.

I don't think I have heard a thrush here, blackbirds are quite common though.

Nest change-over. Male left, female (I think-- seemed larger) took over.

Parent on nest, incubation continues. He/she calls to mate a few times. I hear mate replying from some distance away.
