Awesome! I can't wait!! Oddly enough, I love the small bird feeder cam :loveshower: Where I live, I only own the INSIDE of my house - I don't own the outside, or the garden - and I have just been told I have to take down my bird feeders

:peek: What a great message for all fans of searching animal behavior. It`is more comfortable to do this at home in nice atmosphere, about 20 degrees. Yesterday evening I`ve been outside for four hours, waiting for deer and boar, at frosty temperature. One boar appeared far away for 2 minutes, 4 deers stayed longer. But it needed about 30 minutes to defrost myself. So - every webcam is welcome as soon as possible and I look forward to meet old and new looduskalender-webcam fans :gathering:

Reading back to what I wrote, I see that it is my error to say that placing of food is an issue. It's not that, of course.
But I remember an LK article two or three years back which mentioned that the people who erect the webcam wait until the ground is hard because they don't enjoy sinking into the mud too much.
So I do humbly apologise if my simple error has caused so much concern. You know, there really isn't a conpiracy to hide information

I did not expect you to hide information. I rather thought those people from whom you recieved your information to hide something...

But still it seems strange to me: They don´t want to sink into the mud for some minutes?! Somehow I cannot believe that this is the reason for not installing a webcam.
And how do they get the webcam away from the feeding ground in spring?

Somehow it´s funny...

(this is NOT against you, Jo :innocent: )

So, speculation abounds!

Yes, I am in UK, and rely on LK and Kotkaklubi to tell me what is happening.

Ricky,
information what was posted was just for inform at about what day what cam will be open. Take it or leave it. If you have better knowledge, suggestions or claim to LK, you can always contact gs@ilm.ee(e mail which is given on Looduskalender site)

I know. And as I said somewhere above this information was very GOOD.
I just wanted to point out that the REASONS that were given were wrong. Not more.

My suggestion would be: We should be told either nothing or the truth... (by LK boss or whoever, not by LK admins - you can´t know better).
If that muddy boot thing is true, I don´t know of course. Let´s hope so. But it just seems a bit strange to me. :innocent:

Better stop now.
Much ado about nothing.

But wait - there is another possibility!

I was chatting to someone in Estonia, earlier. He is not a hunter but he thought he had heard that there may be a regulation, suggestion, protocol or guideline that feeding of boars is not recommended except in times (frozen hard winter times) when they are not able to get as much food naturally.

If anyone here is a hunter or knows one, in Estonia, can you ask, and find out if that is correct?
If so, it would help to explain the timing we have been given.

The guys at the feeding ground are hunters.....
Here is more info: http://wwweng.rmk.ee/pages.php3/02130802?PHPSESSID=4f29590a1377adc26b3d8c58fecf22bd
Among other things this is said: Additional feeding of wild boars is organized year-round.

Actually, I read that information as meaning that the frozen ground is needed elsewhere. The cam site serves different purposes at different times, needs a replacement, probably less accessible, for the cam season, so it is obvious, after some getting used to. I'll be happy if this interpretation is of any help.

Sorry, I have no idea why you react that offended. And since I don´t want to offend anybody here it really seems to best to stop.
But I don´t see why everybody should prefer untruth instead of nothing.

Well, I emailed Mr. LK so we will hopefully know more soon. :2thumbsup:

Well Ricky,
I suppose you know the someone has to pay for all of that work,the cameras and the 'feed for broadcasting etc;
It isn't me our you ? And all those people who work for this are volunteers.
It probably costs a fortune so that we can enjoy all those cams all year round.
Have you sent a contribution this year ? Even a small sum to help the effort ?
Remember the servers and cameras and (electricity costs are to be considered too)
banding,ADN samples for exam., nest-building. I have probably not mentioned the half of the services that add to the costs.
Please don't whine about the cam coming sooner than later..just be happy and grateful that it will eventually happen.
Why don't you go and ski a 'wee' bit until then ?

For some reason you have got this all wrong
Nobody has been whining about the cams not beeing up!
Ricky just wanted to inform you that the REASON for boarcam not beeing up is not the one we were given.
Why is this a forbidden topic?? Is it not interesting to know what is happening behind the scene and why??
If the reasons for cams not beeing up is secret - so be it, but wrong info can be corrected, can it not??
I really thought that we all are looking forward to see these cams :slap:
Why do we have to be on the war path again??
As I see it, those who are not interested in why and how things happen behind the cams, they can just skip this thread and read something else.
I hope we can enjoy finding more info to help us understand more about how everything operates.
No one has to be rude towards other members....
Please....................

Caysa, if there were no mention about why by LK webcam would not open at certain date, what conspiracy theory you found then?
It is rude to come and accuse in lying. Stop, please.
