Thank you Fleur
It is just our guild, so it is not a big deal, but it was very nice to have my work selected and the show is very nice.

Alice - your quilt is so beautyful :loveshower:

I like the bright colors and how you setted the yellow/orange/red accents

Beautiful quilt, Alice. Both, Alice and Bea, I admire people who can do that! I was doing cross stitching when my eyes were younger  (my eye doctor told me it's the age ...) and before the cat (catching threads is a great game). But I had already problems getting those things done into something like pillow cases. I have no talent for sewing, and I really don't know where the stitching came from!

Thanks for the compliments but as Bea says there are tricks that make quilting easier. Sewing clothes is much harder and much less fun

I am hoping that Bea's beautiful quilt will inspire me to attempt something like that by the end of this year.

Lovely quilt, both Alice & Bea. Like others, I have no talent for sewing or any needle work. Quilts are such special works of art!

Alice and Bea,I think your work is just beautiful,so intricate and the colours are fantastic.
P.S.
I have been a bit 'stunned' since Friday evening when I tried to carry Gigi from my office chair with me to the kitchen table...I didn't count on one slipper falling of and so sent me to the ground with an almighty thud....on my back and my head banged the fridge. :slap: I ache all over but thankfully I diddn't break anything.....not even the fridge (it has a wood fronting on) but it shook me up no end. :help:
Kitty I know how you felt..
My brain is a bit 'wooozy' but I take a couple of tablets for the aches.
I think I was very lucky,so no worries. I am up and about after a couple of days cocooning. I changed my slippers too. LOL

macdoum, that does not sound good! Better the fridge breaks than you! But I know, these things (tables, stairs, bathtubs, wardrobes) are usually stubborn and insist in staying put, instead of just going away for a moment so we can have our falls without banging things! It's never cushions, sofas or beds, that are in our way! :slap:
Get well soon!

Woah, macdoum  Get well soon!!! It is not seldom that evil accidents happen at home !

Take your tablets against aches as long as you need them - the earlier you are able to move like "normal" and relaxed, the better for all your muscles and bones

Oh Macdoum, that is terrible that you fell. It is so frightening to fall unexpectedly, too. I really hope you are well & had no serious damage. As for myself, I finally had an MRI exam done on my back last Friday & I am waiting to hear from my doctor what are the results. I have a copy of the images, & I am not an expert, but even I can see that there is a big black bulge from the disc separating two vertebrae, & it protrudes into the spinal cord area. It seems I probably did rupture a disc, but I must wait to see what the doctor says & how we will resolve the situation, steroid shots or surgery? I do know something must be done, my life has been on hold for almost 3 months now.

I hope you are feeling better by now & can get about without much difficulty.

Oh dear
oh dear

Kitty and Macdoum

I hope you are feeling better Macdoum and I am glad you sent the slipper packing.
And Kitty I hope you and the doctors can come up with a good resolution.

I have had two branches fall out of my tree -- one was huge and one was moderate and now every time I have to walk under them I worry (my sister told me a story of a young jogger whose hip was broken when a branch fell on her). No one was hurt at my house!

 Thank you, everyone, for your good wishes to me for recovery. My doctor confirmed that indeed I did rupture a disc in my spine. He has referred me to a pain management specialist, but it takes time to get into a medical specialist's office. My appointment is not until Sept. 17th. We will start treatment conservatively, I think, with steroid injections & medications, perhaps physical therapy (physiotherapy). Surgery would be the last option after other things. It is hard to wait so long for relief, but at least I now feel that progress will be made.

Macdoum, I hope you are much better by now & suffered no complications from your fall.

:hi: Better health for Kitty and Macdoum. Courage and patience. Sometimes it takes several years to find a solution to a health problem concerning the spine. The same goes for the consequences of accidental chutte.
