Last night , about 20:40, we suddenly heard quite powerful boom outside. All jumped, me, my husband and our cat. We thought something had had exploded near our house, went out and checked, but found nothing
But when we read the news this morning we saw that a meteorite passed, and lit up the sky, at the time last night. It disappeared, and after a little while a boom could be heard. This could be heard,and seen, all across southern Norway. Very exciting
- here you can see the firebowl travel across the sky over Oslo:

- and this was just a little one....

How exciting, Lussi! It has been some time since I saw anything like this. And I have never heard one explode or make a sonic boom!

Can't you see it...the new dream of welth, to find the perfect meteorite stone
(The astrophysicist, Knut Jørgen Røed Ødegård who is mentioned in the article, has in an interview in our local newspaper, recommended people to go meteorite hunting.They are very rare, and because the stones are interesting for research, he think it will be a reward for them
)

Beautiful and amazing!
I never would have thought how pretty the sun could be -- the only time I have even looked was at a full eclipse a long time ago -- I do not know in the 70s.

Thank you, Lussi & Bubo, for the photos of the Venus transit. I did not have anyway to see it, so this gives me an opportunity.
