Yes, it's dangerous, here it's not so much the cats, here most of them live indoors and only very few are allowed out (we have a big road here), but the crows and the magpies!

Did you see any of them outside today? Over here it is quiet, I think they have moved to a different tree.

I often see them when they have just left the nest. The parents feed them for some time on the outside, and we can hear them calling for a while.

just three left inside here, the parents are calling from the outside, and seems like another are taking the chance soon..

and it did - two left..

This picture is from a while ago but... My dad just peeked into the nest and found they finally do have eggs in the box. (the picture is from a couple weeks ago)

It is a Black Capped Chickadee -- The tits I see at the winter feeder kind of remind me of chickadees.

Alice :hi: The Black Capped Chickadee reminds me of a Coal Tit. I have them on my bird feeder ground in the winter. I googled the two species and found this on Wikipedia: " American species in this genus are in english language known as Chickadee"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black-capped_Chickadee

The two last Blue Tits stayed the night inside the box, and when I open the cam this morning I found a empty house...I see in my bird guide that Blue tits can have a second, and smaller brood at the end of june or in july.
last night...sleeping before leaving

Yes they do  , but we have been wandering what our cat would do if we where small as mice...bye bye to us I think :rotf:

A picture of a Barn Swallow ( Hirundo rustica ), who often sits on this cable who is connected to our house. Usually they are two, talking and chattering. They seems to find something to eat on our roof..we also have House Martin ( Delichon urbicum ) and Common Swift( Apodidae ), who is not related to the Swallows though. This year my husbands parents have rebuilding the roof on their barn, so the Swallows and especially the Common Swift have had some problems finding a good place to nest.

my pictures is not so good, I only use my mobile..

We also have swallows, but I what people always forget, as "Schwalbe" is what they are commonly called here, what we have here is the "Common Swift" - Apus apus - and not the barn-swallow - Rauschwalbe (Hirundo rustica), we hear them calling whenever they fly around and my bird book says, the swallow does not.
Right now they fly very low, a thunderstorm is about to come.

Very nice photos, Bubo, and I think exactly the place to put them! Are they your geese or did you visit them, or see them somewhere?

I have been to the zoo today and I think I also share a few pictures with you:

And - I saw an eagle! The show there also shows a golden eagle and I just came at the right moment to catch a glimpse

Edit: in the meantime I came to know that this eagle is an Kazachian (biggest sub species of the Golden Eagle - Aquila chrysaetos daphanea) and his name is Adonis

This evening I just saw my first bat of the summer. I assume there have been some around, there have been some bugs, but it has been a very cool summer. I think we have just two varieties: Big Brown Bats and Small Brown Bats. I think it was a Big one.

Just yesterday my dad was on his roof, cleaning the solar panels and so he looked in his chickadee nest. (He was a little worried) The nest was empty no dead babies, he was much relieved. They are pretty secretive when the chicks are around so he did not expect to see them in the yard, but he had thought he would see some fledging activity.

Along with the news he sent me images of baby jays -- Scrub Jays.

The adults have real tails.

Those pictures of the Scrub Jay is so nice Alice. The baby Jays colors is so beautiful. We don't have those here, and I can't find them in my bird guide. We have the Eurasian Jay, and the Siberian Jay. Thank you for posting them.

There seem to be different species of Jays around the world, but so many act like jays. When I first saw the Eurasian Jays at the pig cam, I knew they were jays, because they acted so much like the ones I knew.
