As I got to know you and this place a bit more, :innocent: I changed my introduction a little. (28.04.2013)

Hello, nice to meet you all...!

I am Gabriele, 63, living in Germany, near Essen.

I studied Psychology and worked for an organization of former Prisoners of
NS-Women-Concentration-Camps during the last twenty years, unsalaried.
Now I am retired.

And, after an accident, I couldn’t leave the house for two years now.

So, last year, as someone posted the link of Looduskalender in our forum,
I was so glad to discover all the webcams in this great Forum,
and watched Nori, Uno and Elo growing up, watched the bears, boars and other animals,
and enjoyed the sea gulls in the Käsmu-Bay and the coast of the Grey Seals.

I couldn´t stop hanging around the Forum during winter, so I could watch the animals
at the winter-feeding-grounds and the snowy landscape.

Then Linda and Sulev came back and started their new family, and I was with them,
since Linda had layed her first egg and celebraited the beginning of her incubation,
up till now. Hopefully, in about three/four days the first little Eagle will hatch...!

Since the link from last year shows the nest of Piret and Madis again,
I´m quite excited waiting for them to arrive and registered here, to get more information
and deepen my knowledge about this wonderful birds.

I saw them just high above in the sky, eagles and vultures too, as I traveled overland
to India and beyond for a year, long time ago, as they accompanied us on our way
from Afghanistan to Pakistan, all the way up to Kashmir-Valley, and in the Himalayan region
in Nepal on the way to Katmandu.

In my childhood I knew all the birds around and could recognize them by their voices,
but that´s long ago and there are not that many birds left in the area where I live.

There are some noisy magpies sitting all day on the flat roof of the house where I live
on the sixths floor, on the outskirts of a small town.
They often frighten me as they pitch down from the roof, suddenly passing my window,
falling strait down like a stone, before they quickly open their wings and use the warm up
winds to carry them all the way up into the sky.

As an old green activist and interested in Wildlife-Protection I enjoy “Looduskamera”,
this great Web-Cam-Project, and Estonian Nature and Wildlife.
A strange passion is moving in my head, my heart has become a bird which searches in the sky.

We know it and we want to visit it. But we need a day without sunshine, because our dog has to stay in the car for the whole time

Hi,

I`m yarrow/Reg and I live and work in Hagen, that´s near Dortmund...and that´s "near" Cologne..I´ve been watching the eagles last year and now I´m here...I live together with my cat(7y.), a "stink pot" turtle and fishes and shrimps...also I´m feeding birds...we don´t have eagles in this area, but Ravens, robins, timice, blackbirds, nuthatchs, sparrows, pigeons, finches etc. and about 5 squirrils coming each day to dine in my restaurant. I´ve also seen a couple of wild rabbits joining the party.

Hello everybody!

I am a new registered member from France. Last year I followed eagerly Madis and Piret's nest but I never registered. Now I am back following Madis (and Oxana?) and also Ilmar.

I start here because I don't know where to post my question about Piret. There are so many topics I am afraid to post in a wrong one.

Hello Everybody!

My name is Eddi, I use it as my nick mostly with the the appendix AT (stands für Airedale-Terrier) to be different from the hundreds of Eddis who seem to populate the web. I am female, what is not really seen by the name. I am aged in the end of the fourties, not married anymore, no children, but since more than 30 years living (among others) with dogsb (Airedales) and horses (Criollos). Working as a vet.
I'm living in the western part of Germany in a low mountain range called Hunsrück http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hunsr%C3%BCck We have very much nature outside  To be honest, there is not too much other than landscape

I use to ride nearly everyday here in the landscape, through the woods, take my both Airedale-Terriers with me and get the mind free. One or two hours recreation, a piece of holiday every day.
Here I have the opportunity to watch the wildlife very closely, in fact you have much more chances to watch them by horseback. We can see Black-storks, wildcats and eagle-owls as examples for the rare species.

Last year I got the link to the osprey-cam and enjoyed them very much. So I looked around if the cam would be online this year and found this busy forum.

I spread the web-cam-links in my forums and to friends because I think it is one of the best ways to let people have part in wildlife, inspire them for nature and give them reasons to save the earth.
And of course I enjoy the cams very much. My favourit at the moment is the WTE-eagle-cam, its always "on" when I am online. But now the ospreys become more homely so they will also get a window on my laptop.
I would like to join this community to get closer information about all the activitys and background around these webcams.
I registered also to be able to thank all the people who do this great work and let the world have part in the natures great little secrets. Thank you all for this! :!:

Welcome to this forum Eddi, when I pushed your link I was very surprised to see Kirchberg. We went for 27 years on vacation to the same house in Liederbach (Kirchberg) not very know by most people. All my dogs had a great time there and we also ofcourse, some times twice a year. Normally I don't show my personnal feelings. Pitti comes out Trier 50 km from Kirchberg, I want to react but I did not. So now I do.

Hi Wil, hi Raziel,

thank you.

@ Wil
Kirchberg is about 20 min to drive from my home. This part of germany seems to be a favourite insider-tip for the dutch vacationers 8-)
Tell me - if you like - when comming the next time.

In our Airedale-Forum we do meet each other very often. This year for the second time a whole-german (and a Austria) meeting in the middle of Germany in the "Harz". There will be more than 40 Airedales (with their owners) in one Hotel for 3 days! This is a report at the open part of our forum from the first one: http://airedale-freunde.boards-4you.de/ ... =2101&sid=

Yes, I recognized some users comming around this part of Germany. The world became really small with the www

@ Raziel
I feel sorry about you, that you are not riding anymore. I couldn't bear without. The white horse on the pic is now 24 years, it's the 2nd foal from my first mare which died 6 years ago in the age of 31 after 28 years with me. And now the "baby" becomes slowly a retiree - as times go by....
