Likely topics so far - Nord Stream and the dangers to the Baltic countries from possible toxic residues.

There is a wind-farm on Hiiumaa which is controversail (as are all wind farms)

What other topics would members like to see here?
Some days ago the Strategy for the Baltic sea was presented!

Hi bociany and Jo UK. Thank you for your attention and your advice.
Although I live in the UK English is my second language and it needs some time to study all topics for me.

bociany, the quality of your naptime's photos are perfect and I hope to find here how I can make the pictures using the cam :book:.

There have been comments about page loading times due to the number of pictures we post - well, we are a picture oriented forum!
It may help if we post only 3-4 pictures per post and have fewer posts per page. It was set at 25 posts per page. Now I have set it to 20.

We DO WANT the same number of pictures - each one tells an important part of the story of life on our nests, but if you have a collection of 10 - 15 - 20 pictures about a particular incident, please post them in 3 or 6 or 10 posts, instead of one post.
This way,, each page will be smaller and load faster, but we still have the same number of pictures.

Thanks Alice and Jo for replying on the BS forum. I didn´t know about this change.

I have also seen posts with really many pics. I always wondered how that works because the sytstem never allows me to post more than 5. :puzzled: I thought there was some trick that lets the system think there are only 5 although there are maybe 15.
But how does that really work (I don´t want to do it but it bugs me a little)?

Ricky, I don't think I am going to provide much of an explanation for you! I took this screen shot of the ACP, which shows that we may post 7 links per post. (although we wish to restrict that to 3 - 4 per post now) As there have been posts with 16 and 25 pics - that is, links to photobucket images - it doesn't make sense to me. Theoretically, I should now change the ACP to say "allow 5 links per post" but there doesn't seem much point, because it goes its own way, anyway!

Sorry, but you will have to carry on being bugged! :rotf:

So, photobucket links are treated differently by the system?! :rotf:

(But you´re right: I can include 7 links, not 5  )

Hello dear friends of Looduskalender,

the German translation team :gathering: is searching for assistance. We translate the English scripts to German.
If you know English well (better than a translation machine), you are welcome.
We also discuss translation-problems to improve our English knowledge.
You are interested? Contact me per PM and I`ll explain the procedure.

Have a nice day and fun with Loodkuskalender,
regards from Knallfroesch :peek:

We are going to start a new part of the forum. Maybe we could name it Seasons, unless someone has a better idea!

The purpose is to create a photographic record of the way leaves on trees change at this time of year. According to our membership, it will be mainly a Northern hemisphere record, though we welcome photos from the South, too.

At first, I thought that a picture taken once a week would make a good record of leaf-fall, but now I realise that in the far north, leaves can change colour and fall in a couple of days, so each member must decide how often to take a picture.

Maybe we should have a topic for each country, rather than one topic for all pictures.
Suggestions welcome, please. Organisers' and editors' ideas also needed.

I will go and take the first photos of trees in my area - Winchester in the south of the UK, about 10 miles north of Southampton, latititude
51.03.46 North

There will be a forum, here, for discussion about the Looduskalender trip to Hawaii, in March. The empty forum is visible now - it will be "furnished" with English language and Estonian language topics soon.
Kuremari will be moderator for that forum

Maybe that's what people are doing - packing for Hawaii? Dropped in today at about 2.06 pm forum clock time, counter said 3 users  in all.
The lowest I have seen until now. And less than 1 is not possible to see - or is it?
