K82
the video is from 10.5.2018.
I hope she doesn't come back.
It's sad to see her lying there all the time and she won't have a chick.
Sauces
It's a pity if of all things the 2nd chick didn't get a name, because she didn't have it easy from the beginning. First she was mobbed by the big one and now the small one and partly the big one.
Yesterday I saw a feeding, only the little one was fed. the other two fought for a small remnant.
I read over and over again from experts that these eagles have the greater chance of survival, since they are used to fighting.
Decorah has grouped to the family picture.
The chick finally hatched yesterday in Decrah-Nord. It took him two days to fight his way out of that shell. Therefore it wanted to be fed right away.

So so sad.
For me, one thought is comforting: maybe nature has arranged it so that the poor K82 should completely recover from her injury for the rest of this season to be fully fit and strong next year. Hope she and K81 will come back next season.

I must say what Birdfriend said: OMG !!
This was a pretty huge one and yes, she noticed the snake very late. Thanks God, she noticed still right in time. What she all must go through, I feel so sorry for her, especially when I see her still rolling her only egg.....in vain.... tears.....
The nest at TH is empty now. She gave up the broken egg, the battle between hormones to incubate and raise youngs is over for her this season. I hope for a better time in the next season for this pair. Now, I hope, that she can recover her completely.
Edit: Now, I have just read your comment, balistar, you had the same thoughts like me.

Thank you for sharing the video from K-82 and her lost egg, heartbreaking to watch. She was still in incubation- modus.

Yes, Birdfriend, she was again sitting down after putting the poor, already well-developed dead chick (I don't know how to call it in english) into the fence on the edge of the nest.Birdfriend wrote: ↑May 19th, 2018, 9:51 pm Thank you for sharing the video from K-82 and her lost egg, heartbreaking to watch. A hole in the egg. The beak was also briefly visible.

I also had to laugh when I opened the nest and see the three standing soaking wet.

The female has "fed" the little ones several times in the last 4 hours only with the beak, since there was no food in the nest.
Then the male finally came with a fish.

Bawet Thank you for the update
It is the wrong time for them. They have lost their first eggs. Usually they bring the afterbirth of the calves to the nest. They are already born. There is nothing left. I think, It's going to be a tough season.

Liz,
Exactly, they're two months later than usual.
Yesterday, however, there was enough fish in the nest, at least I saw a whole one, a piece of tail and the male was also still at one. There was nothing left this morning.
Which is also very bad, a lot of vermin on the eagle.
I was shocked this morning when I looked back and saw that one chick was fed above the nest bowl, the other was lying in the nest bowl and got nothing.
Later, the two lay together again.

Good Morning!
Decorah NN... both eaglets have passed away. I saw it! I think it is better. There were not enough food. It was the biggest problem. Without food, they were not able to survive normal things. A healthy eaglet does not mind if there are gnats.
It was a bad season for the parents.
