LIZ,

You asked about DECORAH Mom...

This morning, first feeding - was the same. Little one was on first row! but she looked for the others. after all, he got 2 bites; he was shivering with cold, end of meal, she covered them.

Now, about 22:30 LAT time, the weather was frozen, very bad, the nest looked like a fish shop full with giant fish (don't know how he carried them  ).

Again, She was feeding the 2 big, large pieces, but nothing for third. The 2 big had footballs instead of crops. Little didn't have a crop at all.
He was shivering and she went to cover them.

The other day, both parents were feeding a beak each (tandem), they "didn't see" the one on the second row.
They are working by the book: Feed only the bigger and stronger...

Trio Bald Eagle Nest

4/19/18 – #2 eaglet didn’t make it last night. #1 continues to thrive and will enjoy watching this little one grow up. As it grows you will notice the parents leaving it alone more often. The parents are close, so no need to worry.
(3/21/2018 – The second eaglet arrived late afternoon. 3/20/2018 – The first eaglet was observed at 9:30 am.)

Owl attacks the nest

Image

Attack. Attacking owl hit Mom s head... and then it made a circle around the nest to its previous position.

Image

We can see that while Mom stayed silent and contented, a local mouse (lower left corner) decided to leave a stage :rotf:

BIG BEAR CA APRIL 21st

What a happy morning for STORMY

He was up at 05:45 and stood next to Mom, on the rim's rails behind her. She flew away few minutes later.

He was standing at this point for 2 and half hours!! till 08:20 !! he was watching the sea and the world.

Later some exercises like all eaglets.

I was so glad to see him there, I cannot forget the blocks of ice he was growing in.

Stormy, I wish you all the best Beautiful Eaglet ! :loveshower:

Big Bear
Thanks, Abigyl, for the Word Up about Stormy! I too, wish all the best for stormy!
I can’t wait to see him flying!
:headroll:
Solo, this is what I keep hoping to catch Stormy do - exercises! Thanks for the video links!

I’m guessing that the Sauces Chicks will be ringed soon. Nest time 12:18pm I hear noises beneath the tree and that reminded me.

Off Topic, but I was wondering if anyone has watched the Presidio Red Tail Hawk Cam. the 2 chicks are adorable! Mom, sometimes has to wake them up to eat!
 The camera is on YouTube, I watch through www.iws.org camera link.

In about 7-10 days eagles will hatch; it'll take much time.
