No, it´s impossible to know for sure... But many seem to think Hope is female because she´s so feisty.

As far as I know the SW Florida Eagles arent watched by any biologists, so we will never know if they are male or female... we dont even know it at Nori & Co. ;)

On the forum of the SW Florida Eagle Nest most people think the mystery food was a young otter:macdoum wrote:I heard earlier that parent on SW Florida eagle nest brought a feline to the nest as food.
Somewhere on that forum I read too that the eaglets devoured a skunk this weekend. My guess is that these furry mystery food items are roadkill. After all bald eagles are very opportunistic regarding food and will scavenge just as much as they will hunt, and especially when there are ever-hungry young to be fed I can imagine that they will take any available prey. See also http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bald_eagle ... nd_feedingDad and then Mom feeds from the unknown mammal brought in earlier by Harriett.
Although there can be no definitive answer as to what it was, it is believed by many to have been a young otter.

The parent has brought the big big fish, but to peck itself did not become, has given possibility to children to peck. Thus parents learn children (SW Florida Eagle Cam)
