March 28th
Juliet brought a fish for Nick and Noel and fed them.
They are now juvies, but still like to be fed.

AEF-NEFL Eagles 3-28-15 Noel's Scary Owl Encounter
Caution this footage could be alarming to some but those in charge at NEFL wanted you to know what happened and that all is good now.
At 6:12 this morning Noel was perched in the nest tree when what sounded like a Barred Owl swooped in and knocked her off her perch.
You can hear her decent but we cannot see where or how she landed. Cam operator looked for a long time and could not locate her.
Finally at just around 7:00 she was seen on the wide angle cam (not included) and Nick's reacted to seeing her.
At 8:46 she flew up to join Nick near the nest.

I wonder whether is was an accident or did the owl do it in purpose ...? It really looked scary, poor Noel was in sleep! Happy that that he is ok after all.
EDIT: 29th March
There was talk on the chat about those owls to be nest thieves - so it might have been their purpose to threaten Noel as inhabitant of an attractive nest ... ?

The second chick is almost out of the egg
It is a beautiful pair and a beautiful nest! They seem to await another egg, as the first one is not incubated properly yet ...Owlie wrote:...now streaming live from Dollywood! They have Egg #1!! c/o Harriet & E6
There was an awesome episode when Harriet escorted E6 to the pond and showed him how to take a bath and drink of the water. E6 seemed just to love the water, went into the pond over and over again and took a stomach bath now and then and drank water. It lasted about half an hour and was just so cute to watch! I'll post the video link as soon as they publish it.

E6 was trying to take bath in the pond, but was frightened by a horse and flew back to the nest tree.

Essec09: R***, 'intruder' is a word usually used when an eagle disrupts a successful breeding season of a pair. I think what we are seeing are eagles that were passing through, searching for food and one sees an opportunity for a territory. They have shown no aggression, except to steal some food. And you really can't fault them on that. ...

I saw this Eagle sitting most of the time and so I did not know that she has baby eaglets. One see the egg on the right and so I did not have a look on another place. It is so hard to see that there are 2 eaglets, only noticed that while she started feeding.
Since a long time I saw the dad there - he brought a nice fish and so eagle momma started feeding.

c/o Ozzie
... If Ozzie doesn't recover enough to survive in the wild, he'll spend the rest of his life in captivity.
If he does recover, he'll be released near the North Fort Myers nest site, where he might or might not get back together with Harriet.
"Eagles mate for life, but by the time we release Ozzie, Harriet won't be around," Barron said. "In the fall, when she comes back, if he's around, working on the nest, defending his territory, they'll probably hook up. So, we're not in a big hurry to get him back out there."

NEFL The Hamlet/ Juliet&Romeo
Nick and Noel are now beautiful juvies and this nesting season will soon end...
I wish both amazing kids and beloved parents Romeo and Juliet high flights and successful hunting!
9.15am Both buddies still stick together... Nick came to inspect the nest. Noel screamed on the branch. And after a moment off they were like profies ...

NEFL Hamlet
Great videos showing that eagle lessons are going on... now it is stealing and tearing the prey...
AEF-NEFL Eagles 4-12-15 Food Fight
After returning from the morning outing Nick & Noel did not have to wait long until Romeo delivered fish - and the fight was on. Noel initially claimed the fish but Nick had plans - waiting until the time was right he moved in and successfully stole half of the fish.
AEF-NEFL Eagles 4-12-15 Awesome Triple Fly In ~ Following The Food Home
Got to watch an awesome triple fly in with Nick & Noel chasing parent back to the nest. Of coarse the food fight ensued after that and naturally there was a steal.
5.00pm Romeo brought some fishie. Both are wet - is it raining or after fishing :hmm:
