Again a problem made by humans!

Jackie nibbles at the line with her beak. Dad is also there.

 Solo and Birdfriend!
I’m so enjoying these 4 Bobbleheads!
Sunday morning I caught the first breakfast feeding at Berry nest. I saw mom’s bad left foot when she got up to feed the chicks. The chicks are so close in size that it was cute to watch them tackle each other between bites of fish during the feeding!

Big Bear- - Yikes! That fishing line wrapped fish!
 :slap:
I haven’t seen a feeding lately, but I’ve watched some videos posted here.
It is seriously going to get cold, windy and snowy at the Bear’s this week.
I’m thankful that Jackie Bear, will keep the babies warm.

the pine cone next to Mrs BB looks decorative :) (Dr.Sharp: It must be an old, dried out cone.)

Snow flurries starting in BB just after 3am
Just a wee bit of snow blowing around at 5:42am (cam time) w/ Mrs. BB in exactly the same spot I last saw her last night. Just checked the temp @ 5:53am and it's 15F. Still blowing but doesn't look quite as bad as last night.

:hi: Solo,
thanks for the updates.
I saw the poor young mother laying there full fluffed, snow in the nest, kind of snow/ice-pebbles dropping on her, it looks so cold and a strong wind / storm is blowing. She is doing her best to keep her babies warm and dry. I feel so sorry for her.

07:00 brave Mom
Image

07:12 what can I feed my babies, this fish is totally frozen
Image

07:13 the little bobbleheads are hungry, she tries to feed them some from the coot, the foot :slap:
oh no, Mom, they can't eat a whole foot yet
- oh my, the babies get covered with snow

07:16 the little ones are freezing and shivering - babies didn't eat - Mrs BB eats some coot feathers and settles down to continue incubating them
Image

08:07 snowfall stopped, sun came out, but storm is still blowing - nest is wobbling (and cam stutters from time to time)
Image

08:12 Mom got up and tries to feed again - no success

08:55 she got up again and stretches her wings
Image

08:55 and calls out, probably for Mr. B bringing some fresh food
Image

08:57 she took off the nest, babies are all alone in that cold wind blowing

08:59 she returns to nest without food & grabs the frozen fish
Image

09:00 and feeds little bites to the older one and this one is eating very well
- the young one seems a bit weak, doesn't move, doesn't turn its head
Image

09:01 now also the younger one turned around, gets some little bites and has enough
- it's too cold for him
Image

then she settled down to keep them warm and safe

Berry College

Another heroe is this MOM from Berry College:

She can't walk on her bad broken leg or put weight on it, she must have pain,
but goes hunting and brings a coot for her bobbleheads (and her mate  )

My respect for these eagles is growing more and more, the longer I watch the nests.

balistar!

Thank you for your last pics from Big Bear. I saw this feeding too, Jackie do her best. We can only hope here, they have it not easy during their first breeding. Bad and cold weather, a fishline, not enough soft materials for the eaglets.
Both bobble heads had heavy bonking fights, at first both were same strong, now the bit older is stronger.

Yes, balistar, she is an hero, very brave. Her leg looks more bad as in previous years. She can this leg not more good use, but she hunts and do all for her family.
