Re: American Bald Eagles.
Mama watches the countryside while the eaglets have an early evening nap.
Mama watches Dad soaring overhead. We see the eaglets' big yellow feet, which shows how fast they are growing. And one has a big poop.
"There, now I feel better!"

Hahaha! All the little ones in Decorah & at the Sooner nest are getting big yellow feet & they are so cute!
I am worried tonight, though. All through the Midwest region of the USA we are under threat of very nasty weather, from west of my city, Kansas City, Missouri, through the area of Iowa where Decorah is located. There have already been a number of tornadoes reported west of here. And I am looking at the Decorah nest right now & see lightning flashes & hear raindrops at times. I pray for the eagles' safety tonight! And ours here at my home, too, of course.
But what I see in the nest just now is fish for a midnight snack-- two big fish Dad brought to the nest earlier this evening.

Babies huddle under Mom to hide from rainstorm. You can hear an American toad singing its spring mating song in the background. I love that sound, it is only a one-note trilling, but something about it is very appealing to me. You can also see a lighting flash & hear a little thunder near the end of the video.

Thank you for nice pictures and video Bleggi and Kitty
Kitty, I hope all is well and that the bad weather didn´t hit you too hard. ( I hope it didn`t hit you at all)
02:50, local time - Rain and thunder in Decorah, but everything looks good after all. Mum is doing everything she can to protect her eaglets, that now seems a bit restless under her. They can both be seen and heard..
- This picture is from yesterday morning, local time, the eaglets was home alone. I think they are soo cute:
Edit: There has been a stressful and exhausting night for the parents in the Decorah nest. Not only has there been a terrible weather, but they were also exposed to an Owl attack. Everything seems ok, but according to the american forum dad has not been seen after the attack.
Edit 2: Both parents in the nest 09:49, local time. It`s still windy.

Tonight I saw the both parent birds there ,both feeding the owlets. Mom seems anxious, she is peeping a lot and the wind is fierce there tonight.
Then Male bird brought in more fish but the eaglets had full crops. Stil, they have a food stocked now.
I hope they are all safe tonight again. I hear storms are in Iowa tonight.
I hope Kitty is safe ?

I am OK, Macdoum. The terrible storms just barely missed us here in Kansas City. We had some wind & rain downpours, but the really bad stuff went to our immediate west & to the immediate north of us. The radar depiction on my computer all night looked like at any moment it would hit us, but it paused just west of us & moved northward. It was still a bit scary as the weather service had been warning us for a couple of days that it could be as bad as the tornado that hit Joplin, Missouri, last spring that killed 162 people.
Today, I have checked all the eagle nests.
The Vian eaglets were eating, playing with sticks, & doing flight training this afternoon.
18:30 local USA time
The Sooner eaglet is getting big & fat!
18:35 local USA time
And the Decorah eaglets were still in the nest despite the wind.
