It is sad indeed but there is also joy.

Let's rejoice that little Skye's siblings, Arky and Dakota, are thriving and growing every day. Likewise, Snap's siblings, Crackle and Pop, are well. We look forward to their fledges.

Arky and Dakota are doing well Image Image

edit: Today, I have read that in Eagle Valley (Southwestern Wisconsin) is one of the two Eaglets missing overnight.
There are video recording, but unfortunately no IR.
It is suspected an Intruder-Predator (due to the recording).
Reminds me of the WTE nest in Hungary...

NE Florida – Romeo&Juliet
June 6th.

The nest is now empty, Romeo departed on May 8th and Juliet on May 18th. The NEFL cams will be paused for the summer months tomorrow.
A Black Vulture was probably the last visitor to NEFL nest until fall.

It's D19, the only one, which survived in health.
Post fledge events
Saturday, June 21
D19, the middle eaglet, fledged on June 19
The eaglet was found in the middle of a road and people were directing traffic around it. The eaglet ran instead of flying to escape. It was captured and held overnight in the mews. It ate a full three quail prior to release, indicating that its primary problem might have been hunger-related weakness. Next morning, after watching the eaglet flap in the mews the caregiver concluded that it was not only healthy, it was strong enough for a transmitter The transmittered eagle was released.
Sunday, June 22
D20, the youngest eaglet, fledged on June 20
Eaglet was found downed on some rocks in the stream near the nest with a broken wing. It was taken to SOAR ("Save Our Avian Raptors") and received surgery to pin the injury. Eaglet is still in the SOAR.

Tuesday, July 08
D18, the oldest eaglet, fledged on June 19
In the morning fledgling D18 was electrocuted on a high voltage power line
He attempted to land on the power pole. An examination of the eaglet’s body revealed singeing and burning around his elbow and feet.
