Hi all,
Cam's. Mr Looduskalender told that cameras are painted now (they were white before, now green(ish).
they also 'tuned' cameras - sound, angle etc.
Feeding cams are much easyer to maintain - no nesting, no fear that chicks or parents will be disturbed.

Food. Looduskalender has arrangement with local hunters, it was'nt so easy as it looks like - just bring some fresh meat. It has ti be 'beast'? (uluk) Hunting licences needed etc.

Ravens . Looduskalender said that ravens always eat first - eagles don't eat if ravens had'nt touch the food. Like 'old times' - someone had to 'taste' the food before Royalties - is it poisoned or not:)

Thanks for the useful news, Yarko.
So, ravens are food tasters for eagles? What a great plan!

I think you are saying that the food put out for the eagles (and ravens and crows and - etc) has to be a naturally occurring food that they might find for themselves. It may not be supermarket, processed food, and MacBurgers?

What good management. Thank you, Estonia, for taking such good care of your bird population.

Right Jo. Only natural, not 'fast' food:)

We are proud to be Estonians!

yes it is! It looks like they have all the food and eagles get nothing - but that's how it works in nature.
I wonder how egles know when to come - when it's not too late:)?

Yarko, it`s great news, we were worried that there will be no food left for eagles.
but nature has it`s ways- someone (ravens=many)has to take the risk for chosen (eagles=few) ones.
so who is learning from who- people from birds or vice versa :puzzled:

Good morning!

Quite a heap of food again. Wonder how much game meat is there, in kilograms or pounds.
