It is so windy today & it looks very cold. I like the patterns made in the ice when the water froze.

I was not sure what was making the patterns -- maybe ice and receding water but I have been thinking about how beautiful they are.

Snow flakes are blowing at us, aren't they?

(You can tell I live in a warmer climate because I thought they were bugs flying around -- although currently small puddles are frozen here, so it is colder than usual.)

It looks kind of like a snow mist with some larger flakes blowing by once in a while.

We have had very little snow this winter so far, very unusual. Seven "snow events" but less than one inch of snow!

But I think maybe the ground is getting whiter.

I have not seen one snowflake yet, only rain and wind.
Unusually for the time of the year.
Today we have a little sun.

I think you are right. The areas on the pond that are surrounded by the dark lines are definitely getting lighter colored. And the dark lines are beginning to disappear, I think.

That tree that is sometimes at the right and sometimes sort of in the middle -- all we can see of it is the trunk -- that tree is really moving in this wind.

There is not much snow on the ground, and apparently no food has been put out yet. Is it going to be another bird-free day? Maybe those two ravens will arrive.

They are going to have to arrive without me. I need to log off for bed now, it is quarter to 3:00 AM for me. I'll enjoy any videos & pictures by everyone else when I come back. So Goodnight / Good day, everyone! I am :offtobed:  .

Maybe we could try to invent names or numbers for the different parts of the scene. That tree needs a name or description. Then there is the middle clump. And those tall trees in the distance, where the ravens were yesterday - -

Sounds good.

If we all try to describe which clump every time we post we will wear ourselves out. I do not have much brain power tonight but I can help if needed tomorrow.

I think of the trees in the middle as being on the center island. Oh but I just realized there is a smaller "island" to the left of the center one with just one tree.

Sleep well! Centre island - fine. You spell it your way and I will spell it my way and everyone understands us!

Sometimes when the wind roars I am very glad it is just a camera out there.

For fast orientation to an examined field, I suggest to allocate reference points and to name them as it is specified in a photo
