First WTE observed with rings on the feeding ground this season was
B279 on black&blue ring on the left ankle. Black&blue mean that it was ringed in
2009 so it is a
4th winter eagle.

White over red on the country ring tell that this eagle was ringed in
Finland SW Archipelago which may include wider coastal areas, too. (Details are kept unkonown for public.)
From now on this code will be shortened as SW Fin.

B279 is our old fellow from Uusimaa, Finland.
He was observed during last three winters in the feeder. Also its brother A278 has been seen, but not so frequently. B278 was photographed also in April 2012 in western Estonia by Tarvo Valker.

This bird with ring B279 is born in 2010 somewhere in SW-Finland, most probably somewhere on Turku islands. We will forward this observation to Finnish Ringing Centre. We all saw this bird here also last winter, last time exactly year ago - 20th Jan 2011!
A few days later Renno corrected the year of ringing. (

B279 was a frequent visitor at the feeding ground last winter in the previous season. It was observed there altogether six times: on Jan 21 and 24, and Feb 17, 18, 19, and 20 in 2012.
