one eagle with rings landed and grabbed something to eat. unfortunately it was too far from the camera so that not much of the rings was seen.

at 17.27 there were at least 5 eagles around the feeding place.
ame wrote:hmm? :puzzled: it seemed to me that there were three eagles in the trees at the closer end of Long Island: the adult on the left and two young ones at almost same line of sight. the front eagle is well seen but the seemed to be another behind it. then there were an adult and a young eagle in the pines on the Grove.

ame wrote:i have a feeling that there had to be more than two adults and three young eagles at the feeding ground today, although it was impossible to count them relieably.

somehow i have a feeling that the "group" of an adult+ 3 young eagles was there today and the pair with Santa's eagle paid a visit, too. judging by the voices there were at least three if not four adults. besides them there were several young ones with differing plumages. today the ringed eagle came in to carry away a piece of food just like Santa's eagle did about a week ago.
- of course there's no way this could be "shown" reliably.
so many adult and young eagles were seen on the feeding place on Feb 27th. one eagle had rings but the markings could not be read.

in this video there are 6 eagles in the tree, 2 on the ground and maybe one more in the air. i'm not sure whether one flew from the tree to the ground or somewhere else but there were at least 8 eagles there at the same time!
so on Feb 28th a flock of at least 8 eagles, among them at least one ringed eagle (from probably Finnish Lapland?) arrived at the feeding ground after 4 pm.

many eagles, both young ones and adults were in the feeding ground in the morning, but no ringed eagles were seen on Feb 29th. they left before noon, and only twice an eagle was seen in the afternoon.
