Hello everybody,
Could someone tell me what happened to the 2 eggs
that were incubated in this Latvian LSE nest ?
Once (in May, if I rememeber) they just disapeared.
Did someone or another animal of prey took them ?
Thanks for your help

Thanks for you info, Site Admin. Indeed, a sad end for this Latvian nest.
Happily, the Estonian nest raised one chick !
I watched both nests and was sometimes amazed about the long
delays the Latvian bird regularly left the eggs before coming back.
A question of "maturity" from young adults nesting for the first time ?
A question of food too scarce, forcing the hungry incubator to go hunting ?
Hope next year a success. But that's Nature, isn't it ?
You, ornithologists from the Baltic countries showed us the best camera
nesting images to be seen anywhere in Europe on the Net.
Proficiat !

Project coordinator Ugis Bergmanis announced that three new cameras
will be installed this season. The camera in the Grieta nest will
operate starting from 31st of March, other will be switched on the
first week of April. Translation trough the official page
www.pomarina.lv will begin once any activity starts in any of the
nests

Thanks for that news, Grieta.
We haven't heard any news about the Estonian LSE nest/webcam.

We, of course, plan to install cam on LSE nest. Did not visit the place of Eha and Koit, but hopefully the highest tree is still there for signal transmission...

Yes, the news is fantastic, Urmas! :loveshower: I hadn't seen the names Ema/Koit mentioned this year, or their old nest, or word of that camera. Figured I'd just missed an announcement that it wasn't to be. Makes me extra happy to anticipate the possibility once again.

Some LSE famele (?) is in the nest, but it is not Grieta's nest fom last year, I think. Tonight is already dark, difficult to see something.

 I saw the LSE too. Soon came the other one! Pictures later.. well, I wish it is allowed like last year. This is not the same nest as last year.

11:27 -11:33

The first LSE left, the second had brought some moss and he/she arranged the bottom of the nest.

THERE IS AN EGG!! if not more..

I'll wait, no pictures before I know that they are permitted .. :D

Grieta, I removed the mms link to the webcam. Is it OK to let the pomarina link remain here?

Thanks, Jo. :D I really like this forum and all the Estonian cameras. Unfortunately, lack of time prevents me posting too frequently. But I follow the events in the nests if possible. :peek:
