Renandeli thank you so much! 17th May pictures are great!
I used your snapshots  , above she is standing and below is same bird sitting. The numbers are hour-minute-second

the female eagle (eta: my nonprofessional opinion)
Image

On todays slideshow where both eagles are together, the lighter-head male can see
Renandeli's slideshow
http://s281.photobucket.com/albums/kk22 ... slideshowˇ

Continues (later)

EDIT:
To me seems she has quite dark head and quite contrast light eyebrows. The "problem" is that the head feathers aren't only dark-colored, but there are lighter tips etc, so in different position she may look different, if she is looking up then she may look more "white-head", plus the lighting plays own role.

on this pic is the same bird (both are renandeli's snapshots)

Image

The male seems to have lighter head. I didnt find sitting-standing pictures of him (where can be sure its same bird) to compare. One picture and probably a male (my nonprofessional opinion only)

Image

The head feathers look lighter, His "pants" are lighter too ....though its more his behavior what makes me think, its he.
viewtopic.php?p=37550#p37550

To me seems, the male spotted eagle can (has skills) incubate, he may replace a female some time, but his priority is to bring food, he doesn't sit on eggs hours and hours (different compared with WT-eagle)

I saw the eagle on the nest last time at 13:51.

I was away some minutes..

At 13:57 the nest was empty, and now when it's 14:26, the nest is still empty.

Hi, this was what Urmas said the 16th May:
here:

viewtopic.php?f=25&t=108&start=50

Urmas: ..But fortunately eggs seem to be not broken, only these could be not alive anymore...

Did he let us understand that the eggs are 'dead' ?

Who knows how long time the eggs were alone at longest? 4 or 6 hours or more :help:

How long time were Klaara's eggs alone at worst? Was it some 8 hours..?

(Well, the eggs of these eagles and of Klaara's were in different phase, and then it was winter.

I'm just wondering, that we may follow a sad story.. though interesting.)

I don't think so. "Could be not alive..." is closer to "might be not alive..." than to "can't have been alive".

Perhaps we were being prepared for the possibilty that the eggs might not hatch, but that there is still a chance that they will be OK?

Three weeks later we'll know.

Three weeks, and we know, asteria. There is still hope, but there is some risk too.

Jo, you are right
..there is possibilty that the eggs might not hatch, but that there is still a chance that they will be OK

And there would not be reason to say
..But fortunately eggs seem to be not broken
..if there is not hope - in case the eggs are dead. Speculating is sometimes funny..Now I understand.
