They are really cute, and - Jakob_Est - the drama at the other nest had kind of a happy ending! Not the one we all would have liked to see, but we can hope for the next year and the chick is in proper care!

Good morning!
Can´t see the chick anymore. Adult came to the nest, brought a small branch, called several times and flew away.

Very good news Grieta, but now I do not see the chick of Grieta and Gints in the nest. I am so worried and sad, what have been happening?

  Did some marauding raven come here & steal the chick?? Oh no . . . please not. no one is in sight. Something awful must have happened, no Grieta or Gints in sight! And the sound on this cam is very poor (like last year) so we can't even hear if they are around. They were such excellent parents to Guste last year, they are why I fell in love with LSEs the most.

I missed that, but just read the posts on Tuuli's forum & saw the pics you posted. I can still hear a raven, though, off in the woods.

Well the translation is not good, but the news is worse.

I read that the baby is dead. I think someone went to the nest and it did not fall out so maybe a martin or... My understanding is that whatever happened, happened in the night.

(But we know how bad my understandings of somethings have been based on google translate from Estonian, so...)

but...
