17:56 - Macho had another delivery (Latvian forum), probably a big mouse (?)..It was a strange Google translation, so I´m not quite sure.

19:08 - Unfortunately I didn´t see, only heard, but Metra sounded like she does when Macho arrives with food. I run to the computer, but I was too late, and I only saw Metra standing in the nest. She was calling a while afterwards. Maybe someone else saw what happened

Thanks to everyone for watching and sharing pictures and observations.. I think we slowly have reached the "hot" phase. As we don't know when the egg was laid and if it is really fertile, we will need a lot of patience here! I just can keep my fingers crossed and hope that we won't see a repetition of Whitsunday morning in 2011 here! That would be sad! Good luck and all the best to Mētra and Mačo!

Liz01 :hi: Metra has had maple leaf in her beak several times lately, and many logical explanations have been proposed, as self treatment, good health, digestion, anti- septic effects, cleaning the nest to get rid of bugs and parasites - like they also use the spruce twig for. Maybe it´s a way to get fluid when she has not eaten for some time too? It´s the first time I have seen her do this.

21:06 - Now Metra is sleeping
Image

I think I read in the Latvian forum that hatching time (if it´s ok) for the egg will be around 10. June, is it correct?
