17:38 Raimis sang a little. did he get the mating thought?
i think he had that look in his eyes and that also the female saw it: she began quickly digging the nest bottom. :whistling:

17:42 he flew away. the Mrs is staying.

17:47 Mrs Raimis flew away, too.

Thanks for finding the lost lady !!

I'm sure she could smell the fresh food there... so he won't get a thing now.

thanks Solo!
it was the Mrs who had a stick in her claws when she landed on the top branch. she tried to take it in her beak before jumping to the nest but then she dropped it. :slap:
if these two ever learn to build a nest and succeed in mating ... :faint:

good morning!
there's a HUGE log on the nest.
that must the work of the Mrs. :rotf:

5:56 some eagle voices from the forest. i think that a male talked first and then a female answered.

5:58 Mrs Raimis brought a huge log. :2thumbsup:

6:00 she jumped to the left branch.

Abigyl, i looked what the GT "said". " a snail" and " Again the eagle is in the nest with snami, this time something meaty, it seems that again Raimis-decided to use the nest as a dining room!"
snail? i don't think so...
snami? GT has become almost useless.

thanks Abigyl! sleep well.

6:02 the Mrs flew out over the meadow to one of the oaks there .... crack! ... and she flew back with a smaller stick. -so you were right Abigyl: she brought another, too.

6:05 the Mrs flew out to the left this time. then there was a snap!-sound again, but this time she didn't come back.

7:05 a mixed flock of little birds visited the nest. there at least great tits and i think perhaps blue tits, too. i also heard the voice of a willow tit and a nutcracker called loud. and a woodpecker.

If it was the lady, her tail is now white, not dirty like last summer.

Around the early morning arrival, there was a buzzard nearby. Thanks for reminding me.

This spring they weren't on their nest so I didn't remember who's voice it was.

a greater spotted woodpecker.
edit: i was wrong. the WP that flew to the camera was a juvenile on both times.
Image

a male visited only the nest: it had a small spot of red in the back of the neck.
Image

8:38 the youngster was looking straight at us! please don't knock! ... ... it went off the camera. :faint:
then there were two woodpeckers on the nest.
