12:27:58 an adult eagle flew by from left to right and over the meadow. Milda probably.
i'm not sure if Raimis saw her. he didn't seem to react in any way.

Raimis seems to favour right angles in his building work. :whistling:
but nest nest will have more corners than only four.

Yes ! he was holding a "mini match" with both feet :rotf:

Thank god he didn't hire a crane to lift this "heavy" stick.

The smallest stick ever brought to the nest

hah, so he brought two 'matches' and thought that they would go for one decent-sized stick. he fooled me alright.
i had to restart my camera. the sound was very much ahead of the picture. Raimis rustled his wings upstairs and i heard the sound much before i saw him doing it. :slap:

12:41 Milda brought some hay! good girl. Raimis came down to work with her.
12:43 she went upstairs.

Raimis continued working on the nest.

restarting the camera didn't help: i heard another rustle and a lot later i saw that Milda shook her wings. what's the matter with the sound synchrony? am i the only one with funny sound? :puzzled:

12:51 Raimis went to the right branch tearing it.

12:53 he returned to the nest.

12:56:32 two birds flew by, probably ravens. they called near just a little earlier.

both have flown away.
13:08 Raimis jumped to the left branch and after a few seconds he flew away to the left side of the pond.

13:09 Milda flew after him.

13:12 angry eagle calls... eagle flew by. no, two eagles!

then Raimis landed calling angrily. or was he scared??! he was chased by a big spotty girl!
Image

she flushed him out of the nest. :slap:
she had a ring! Latvian?
... Angel?? .... she would be whiter by now.
Image

after Raimis had escaped an eagle flew by the nest from right to left. ... and again a little later. i made a longer clip to show this second fly-by, too.

i have watched the episode a few times now and to me it seemed as if Raimis were calling "help! help! help!" all the time when they flew from the left side of the pond and the girl chased him by the nest.
after Raimis had flown the the girl ran through the nest looking like "wait a little pretty boy, i'll give you a kiss!" while Raimis flew away screaming for help. :rotf:

11:50 the was a small visitor.
it looked like a young yellowhammer or a female.

good morning!

the squirrel didn't stay long. she smelled the hay in the middle of the nest and then rushed away. bad smell?

no-one else has been on the nest since the dramatic visit of the ringed girl. also after the squirrel no-one else has been. all the materials are in the places where they were left then.

except a coal tit made a very short appearance on the right rim of the nest at 8:47.
Image

the tit was there only 2 or 3 s.
Image

oops, i missed the main part of the visit. the tit continued talking under the nest and then returned. she moved across the nest but she was so light that she could not move the hay. all the time she was talking.
here's a video of the whole visit:
https://youtu.be/FusDK5VLYzw

mega2 has made more pictures of the coal tit:
https://dabasdati.lv/forums/viewtopic.p ... 62#p162262

9:21 some footsteps under the tree. boar? no voices.

10:44 - 46 a raven made a lot of voices upstairs and nearby. he remained out of sight.

10:40 a bird flew over the nest and then another bird flew to the tree top. mega2 made pictures of the latter bird:
https://dabasdati.lv/forums/viewtopic.p ... f1#p162265

i think that both were ravens. the tree didn't shake much at all when the bird landed on the top. if an eagle lands there the tree shakes a lot and there's also a louder sound.
the bird in the top remained quiet till 10:44. then he began making voices. first two soft grlp's and then normal raven voices. another raven replied from a larger distance.

11:18:22 an eagle called in the forest. it was almost a little song with a rising melody: ka-ka-ke-ke-ki!

16:29 a beautiful hawk (or falcon) came to the top branch. all the underpart (stomach and breast) were white and the back was dark. the tip of the tail was white, too. also the top of the head looked light.
what kind of falcon was it? :help:

16:32 he flew away.

i have to go...
