thanks for the info, Liz. let's hope that the wind stays low and that the boys will have a nice climbing weather. i hope they will dress up properly and stay warm. :whistling:
i gave both a pair of woolsocks.
i could not see the animal(s) under the nest at 10:45. they may well have been a boar. they are around as your video yesterday showed.

there's a little bird who has been singing near the nest for a while. the bird has stayed out of sight...
i can't figure out what bird it is? :help:

12:25 at last i saw the bird: "the red spruce parrot" alias red crossbill (Loxia curvirostra).

12:33: a crossbill on the left branch.
12:34 flew to the right branch. there are many of them as usual.

great pictures of the crossbill! :headroll:

ealier in the morning another little bird sang nearby when Milda was at home. this sounded like a goldfinch but i'm not sure.
edit: maybe the voices were crossbills after all! those were around.
https://youtu.be/Ks6dsFkNE6g

8:55 Raimis flew around the nest 3 times (!) before he brought the stick that almost fell down.

9:17 Milda rescued this stick from falling down when she brought a stick of her own. i made a slow-motion close-up of this operation. i used the live camera sound as background sound. the crossbills were nearby already then.
edit: Milda brought a green twig, not only a plain stick.

12:37 a crossbill on poop branch with a cone. another crossbill flew to the branch, perhaps to steal the cone but both failed to keep it: the cone dropped down. :slap:

12:38:10 a crossbill with cone on a branch in lower right corner.
12:40:35 a crossbill with cone on the top branch. ... and another on another left branch. :D

12:42 a crossbill with cone again on a branch in lower right corner.
they are everywhere.

12:45 suddenly they all flew away.
they had quite a feast on the cones. :2thumbsup:
i made a video of the visible part of their stay. it's probably best to watch this in full screen. there are little birds everywhere.

12:50:about 35 and eagle's voice? or was it a jay again?? :puzzled:
a jay has been making its voices nearby. probably it was an imitation again.

edit: i found the 4 boar walking by the nest at 10:45:40. :headroll:
i read in the chat where they were. it must be the same group of four as yesterday. :D
i made a close-up of them walking by. first came two piggies and a little after them two more.
