I think that the people who do these things are very sick in their minds or personalities. They often have a mistaken idea that they will somehow be celebrities remembered forever by society if they do a shocking mass murder. I think perhaps they are so cut off from natural life & social congress, & overwhelmed by stresses of modern societies, that they just snap in anger & alienation. Unfortunately, other people are not seen as valuable & precious to them, but only as props to be used in some strange, sick movie in their minds.

We have a new webcam - A panoramic view of Tallinn city centre and view of the harbour, and a ravens nest!
There are chicks in the nest, about a week old.

At The Botanical Gardens of The Unversity of Basle today a very unusual flower is due to open.
It is an amorphophallus titanum ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amorphophallus_titanum )
You can see some images here; http://www.google.fr/search?q=amorphoph ... 24&bih=621
BUT the event can be followed online at this address;
http://titanwurz.unibas.ch/webcam.php

The webcam renews every 10 mins. Don't let the name of the flower frighten you. :rolleyes:

Don't know where to post this, if it is seen and it is very short notice, but I just discovered, that German TV NDR3 will show something on the Baltic States right now in their "mare TV"! Maybe some Germans can see this program?
“One can measure the greatness and the moral progress of a nation by looking at how it treats its animals” (Mahatma Gandhi)
"You can judge a man's true character by the way he treats his fellow animals" (Paul McCartney)

It was very interesting, short chapters on the different countries, about lampreys in Lithuania, a bear on the island of Ruhnu, the boarder patrol between Lietuva and Russia and in the end about the ships of Käsmu :D

http://www.ndr.de/fernsehen/sendungen/m ... 75040.html and in a while NDR will have the program in their Mediathek: http://www.ndr.de/flash/mediathek/index.html for those who are still interested to see, even if it is in German!

It works for me now - not much to see though, just a little picture of the nest from outside... The adult is there, one can hear her singing and see her watching out from the nest sometimes. :peek:

Its a lovely flower but the cam is buffering a lot here. :banghead: Only stays on a few moments. Still I could see it. I wish I could smell it too. Has a lovely fragrance they say.

My thoughts are also with the Norwegian people! The news get worse by the hour and a sincerely hope that none of the members here are affected! It's really horrible!
