20.32: it's almost dark and the stork is the on the branch by the side of the nest and preening itself.
a blackbird had something to complain about but now it's singing...
oh it feels so good to see a bird at its nest.

Carmel, thank you for that reminder of the beak and face markings. We must find a way to keep that page as reference.

I t was good to see your pictures of the black stork's visits during the day. Now, it is too dark to see anything, but I hear some kind of owl calling in the forest. Can someone say what kind? It sounds like some big dog saying "woof-woof!"

March 30th
now it has become light and the stork was busy in the nest arranging leaves and twigs just a while ago. then it listened to the blackbird sing and now it's going on with the work.
Kitty: i think the voice in the darkness must be some owl but it certainly sounded like a big dog.
no idea what owl though. i think we'll have to wait for Vainamoinen to give his opinion of it.

it's getting more light rather quickly. the stork began to preen. there are at least two woodpeckers drumming on tree trunks in different places, maybe even three...

Wonderful videos, Ame. When I looked, he was still working on the nest a little, then preened a bit, then suddenly flew off.
So handsome!

He was there a moment ago when I tuned in to the cam, then he left. I can see he has been busy arranging his sticks along the outside edge of his nest.

He has been flying in with sticks, and then leaving again every few minutes. Back and forth, back and forth.
