Macdoum - I can imagine so well! Myself, had had the cam in the corner of my screen for a long, long time, then was off for some minutes and just then male appeared with prey! There's also a clip from that delivery - but as we remember from Klaus and Klaara - in the beginning, a lot happens under Mom's wings, so to say ;-)
In any case, I think soon Mr. Owl has to increase his nr. of deliveries - just a few mice a night isn't enough - I hope he'll manage.

And the 3rd chick has hatched and was first seen during the night, when the female left the nest for a short time. The male has brought 5 mice this night! You can still see 4.

Clip by Leo Ceelen who installed the nestbox and webcam.

Little Dutch Tawnies are now 5-8 days old and growing well.

Dutch Tawny's not so tiny anymore - devouring whole mice ...

Image
Snapshot from nestbox owner

And a clip: Male delivers mouse and one chick wants to swallow it,
female has to help

Clip from nestbox owner

Do check in to see - the female is away to hunt more often and for longer periods of time, so they chicks are often visible - makes me think back to the Tower of Power of Klaara & Klaus when they had even 4 chicks!

Link to Dutch Tawny Owl nest shows outside cam for the time being, due to a problem streaming the nestcam. Should be fixed soon, acc. to the website.

In the meantime, the video clips are in this YouTube channel

Biggest Dutch Tawnie showing his wings - 3 days ago:

Image

and this evening, the delivery of the first mouse resulted in a tug o'war between youngest and oldest:

Image

Afterwards, people who watched it saw a mouse tail hanging out of youngest's beak ... ! Not the first night that youngest grabs the first prey of the evening.

Dutch Tawnies in their nestbox have hardly space for their large wings:

Image

Since several days, the oldest chick goes up to the entrance hole to look outside and await the first prey.

This evening, he sits there for about half an hour. A sibling joins him, goes down again and the oldest goes down as well, but back up in a few minutes and
at one point, he almost drops down:

Video clip made by nestbox owner Leo Ceelen

He sat there for almost 45 min.!
Of course, the first mouse arrived a little after that ;-)

This morning I found a way to make my pics a bit bigger.
At about 10:15 am a little one was looking outside.
Image

After that the mom has liked to fly away
Image :hi:

Thank you Bosuil for sending me the link, so I was looking again how to handle with pics for my album.

Parent arrives with prey, but 2 owlets sit in the entrance hole!

Owlet has fallen asleep while sitting in the entrance hole, parent arrives with prey but he isn't hungry, nor lets parent pass by to feed his siblings ...

News about the other owl webcam in the Netherlands:
Three little owls were in the nest. Yesterday left the first one and this morning around 6 am the second one. In the evening I watched the last little owl sitting in the hole of the little house and I was waiting what would happen. And there are the pictures (are many of them, but the last ones of this nest for this season).

I wish the Owl Family all the best - always enough food and much fun in the world :hi:

Am happy you saw it too, Bleggi! It was so great to see the little one get courage and leave the nest so soon after the other 2, even though he was a bit smaller.

Nestbox owner Leo Ceelen posted a photo of 2 of the 3 owlets in the daytime (too big to post here):

Bosuil: Thank you for this wonderful picture we can see with the Link. It is a dream!
I was fascinated to watch the littlest one leaving the nest. I know that the small ones get care of the parents for some time. But I dont know wether the siblings find together after leaving the "nest" or are sitting alone somewhere near by.
Now I will watch the owls on Beleef de Lente.
Greetings from Bleggi :hi:
