Weather seems to be quit horrible all over Estonia, in Alutaguse (bear cam) it even snowed now! No weather to sit on eggs!

not to worry! these big birds can endure little snowing, too. i remember how i was impressed when i saw some 3 years ago a video clip on the LK news one day how an eagle (Linda) was incubating under a high heap of snow without any problems at all.
wait a sec and i'll find the reference in the archive.....

Sure they can, we had years when it snowed suddenly in late April and even in the beginning of May, and still birds are around! But I am glad for my nice, warm and dry bed ...

Very cute video, the way how Sulev works with the branch and after a while Linda gets enough and helps ...
I hope, that, after Renno found their new place now, we will get to see them next year!
Edit: by the way, Andreas Kieling in German TV ZDF yesterday evening had again WTE as one of the topics, this time it was filming them fishing!

at the same time as the previous messages were posted the buzzards visited the nest again, not for long though. -the weather is not good indeed! for tomorrow night it's promised temperatures near zero and for tomorrow rain and/or sleet.
this is different from the previous evenings/days i think: they haven't been here this late before.

I knew you would see the phantom Jo. Remember when we had a 'phantom' near the BS nest ?...Jo UK wrote:I see the phantom, too. I think it will vanish when the leaves grow.
WHat a great big beak you have and all those trailing vines instead of feathers

Raining a little, & nice bird songs. Macdoum's ghostly stork is standing there on the left with its ghastly white bill, watching the nest! It even seems to have two long dark legs reaching all the way to the ground below on this day.

Sometimes you notice their stripes and bars let them almost disappear into the nest.

it was a quick visit. this is practically all i managed to capture.
common snipes are little crazy this morning. they have been shouting tik-kot-tik-kot-tik-kot-tik-kot-tik-kot-tik-kot-tik-kot-tik-kot-tik-kot-..... in a chorus all morning.
Alice: you're right: they have as good camouflage-colouring as Miss Maisy had. it's very difficult to spot either in the nest if they remain motionless. i guess that buzzards too need to stay un-noticed when they are incubating. (which is not unnecessary for WTEs either!)

this time it stayed a little longer. it made some home improvement.
...before it lept on the rim of the nest...
...and took off after some consideration.
