Re: Osprey Nest Webcam Discussion 2012
Great new cam, thank you. These Ospreys are a new and interesting acquaintance to me, although they exist in the area where I live. Piret & Madis are beautiful names. Thank you for all the great pictures and videos from today
I was lucky to see ( and hear ) them live for the first time on their last visit:

I think that is what I just heard and saw. Banded one was in the nest calling, The other landed with something (food), and the first accepted it and flew off the nest with her prize.macdoum wrote: The male,if he want to win her favours, has to feed her now. The ospreys feed on fish, brought directly from the water. She will shout at him to bring the fish.

oh, what is the Osprey clutching in his right foot in Fireblade's first picture? It looks like a little red-headed bird?

Nancy It might be but its more likely to be a headless fish.. the ospreys eat the head off the fish first (maybe its a delicacy) before offering it to their mate.NancyM wrote:oh, what is the Osprey clutching in his right foot in Fireblade's first picture? It looks like a little red-headed bird?
